Sorry I disappeared. I just pulled an icuhere2.

I donated $10 for malaria nets via a UN charity (Nothing But Nets), which entitled me to two free tickets at an NBA game with availability.

I chose a good game and got solid seats. Said tickets, which cost me $19 with donation and various ticketmaster surcharges are now posted on a certain ticket reselling website where similar tickets are retailing for $120/seat.

icurhere2 approves.

I count four solid days with Houston below freezing. I don't know that such a thing has ever been seen in recorded history.

Keeping my fingers crossed that this forcast is off by two days. Please no snow on the 27 or 28. And if it does snow, please CO start cancelling flights early so I won't be stuck at work until the cows come home.

My finals are all 100% of the course grade in one go.

GFS keeps wanting to create a massive cold dump 10 or so days in the future. It has shifted forward two days since the last alarm two days ago. I'll believe a cold snap like that when I see it, which is doubtful, as I'm departing Teh Pit before X-Mas.

Mr. Cheek was a smart man. He sold his interest in Maxwell House to Postum (now General Mills) and immediately invested the proceeds in a still-small (at that time) company called IBM ...

<Rant On>

Testify brother, as a law student, there is nothing worse than knowing that your entire grade was based on one day's performance, and that you might know course content cold, but if you were ill, distracted, or the like, your whole grade could be blown up for no good reason. I alway found that risk allocation silly and stupid and lived in perpetual fear of it.

The final in the other class is worth 15%. And the final can only drop one's grade 1.5 or 2 letters if one pulls a 0%.

Smart move. :-:

I think Postum went into General Foods, not General Mills - Kraft and General foods got merged in the 80s, which is how I get to work on it now.
