Thanks - yes, it's a good thing my parents are very used to making 8+ hr (each way) road trips in a single weekend, often without a lot of advance planning (I firmly believe that's a big part of why they don't fly a lot - you have to leave on someone ELSE's timeline. Horrors.) CLE-BOS was 10 hrs door to door.

We almost never see these relatives, but they're actually quite nice - someone always mentions the fact that we should try and see each other sometime when there ISN'T a wedding or (more likely these days) funeral to host!

Very nice you could be there; but am sorry for your loss.

I had prospective software developers trying to use Compaq Armadas as touch-screens ...

Time for bed for you, :D;)!

In a few minutes. I have to get up for earlyish. I wish I really had that commute I do twice a week. I could get sleep.

I've seen 20 years do that so it's not just the seniors.

Did you get the cookies? I think it had a lot of fiber, given it tasted like fiberboard ;)

I don't think I've ever had their cookies. Even with their cereals it's hit or miss. Some of them are full of cardboardy goodness.

Credit in the karma account established tonight - was walking from the garage to the hotel and spotted an iPhone in the gutter. Had it back to its owner a few minutes later when he called the phone and told me he lived in the Ritz-Carlton condos.

Me: Hello?

Him: Hello...you have my phone?

Me: () Yes.

Him: Where are you located?

Me: I park cars for the Ritz.

Him: So you found the phone?

Me: Well, I am talking to you on it.

Got a call on Friday from my dad informing me that his aunt (so, my great-aunt) had died, and due to some  in the chain of family contact, he was just finding out...and the funeral was the next morning (in southern NJ, near Cherry Hill, about 45 mins south of me). I think I had met her 2 or 3 times in my life, but it's one of those times where showing up as a family is the decent thing to do, etc...so my parents in CLE and my sister in CT dropped everything and got in their cars, and all ended up in my apartment by midnight.

My condolences, mwg25.

Must be a run on relative deaths or something - fiancee told me tonight her aunt died today. It was expected (brain cancer) but not for another few weeks.

Anyone is free to bring anything they want; but we have plenty of food and drinks so please don't feel like you need to pack food :D

Well, having not stayed in one of those rooms I couldn't really say — it's possible the beds could be moved. Just going off what I've seen in the king rooms it didn't look like you really could. So what's different in the bathroom with the two double bed rooms? Just a larger countertop?
