SPG. I am loving the 1st quarter bonus.

Me, too.^ They finally have one I can get. The multiple stay bonuses never work out for me.

Hotel status isnt as important as Airline status, IMO. I imagine after I burn through all my HH points I will consider the sbm12 route of priceline.

When you're not able to fly much, hotel status becomes critical. ;)

Money saved via the Shatner Tool may indeed provide partial justification (in my case) for advancing past CO Gold.

First of all, Happy First Major Post Milestone to me. 2 days short of a year since I joined FT. Hopefully it won't take me another year to get the next 500.

CM, that is my 2010 travel strategy exactly. Keep *G, try hard for SPG Plat without breaking the budget, and amass as large a boatload of CO RDMs as possible.

You give him a choice? :D

Me too - I'm on my own dime these days and most of the effort is going towards getting my airline status back. Priceline has saved me a bunch of money at times, but I still have a love/hate relationship with it. :)

And now more good news: I can now see E+ seats on .bomb as a UA 3P. :D Looks like Sunshine came through for me after all.

How do I tell SPG.com to stop giving CO miles and give me Starpoints?

?

No points for Priceline. Did I read that wrong? (always a possibility :))

Editing: Well yes I did. :D.

Nope, no points. Money saved funneled into more EQM.

C'mon, there is always room for a random major post milestone. :D

Gotcha. I misread your post and assumed US. Sorry about that.

Turns out US may be the cheapest option. UA has some decent fares too, one of which earns a ton of miles (LAS-LAX (777)-IAD-ATL) but I'm not sure I can convince the other half that it's worth traveling 9 hours to get home that day.

I understand your point but if you had airline status (which you do now), you can book in Exit rows or E+ with a shot at an upgrade.

For Mike, I dont see how burning $1800+ to get top tier status at SPG or Hyatt on his own dime makes sense OVER maintaining *G. If he has enough discretionary money to do both then why not.

Agree totally. I'd rather spend on perks in the air than on the ground. Air travel is inherently much more uncomfortable than being in a hotel.
