Next time you are stuck on a delayed flight (going on 2+ hours) you can get re-routed onto a :-:Alliance flight even if it's weather or ATC.

I didn't notice this before - as of 6pm last night CO is suggesting you arrive 1 hour prior to their standard screening time suggestions.

We really need to invent that security system they have in Total Recall. :-:

I know someone had posted things to do in MAD a few months ago but of course I didnt write them down. We are going this weekend and will be there Friday-Sunday. Any recommendations on things to do on a budget?

+1 to all of the above. Day trips to Seville are supposed to be quite nice as well.
Retiro park was nice for a stroll-around and you can rent row boats. Even though it was cold, there were a surprising amount of people out rowing. We stayed off of Grand Via - the city was very walkable. Ate down on Calle Cava Baja (supposedly less tourist there). Got some very reasonable meals (mostly tapas). Obviosly nothing opened until later (9-10 pm) and the more popular restaurants filled up quickly - standing room only. Lots and lots of cigarette smoke!! Editing - we ended up taking the Metro from the airport to our hotel. It was two transfers but the subway system was very easy to use - and cheap. We were planning to take the airport shuttle back for the return, but the hotel wouldn't let us make a reservation the day before. |
Off to the dog park for a quick visit. Be back soon.

I'm pretty much shocked at how dumb these new policies are. I feel like the security folks got caught with their pants down and are now punishing everyone else for seeing their underwear.:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:
identified potential US threat + refused UK visa + cash ticket = detailed screening This was a failure of the intelligence system and security support infrastructure. Other thoughts: So, if the next attempt involved rectal suppositories, do we need to fly without pants? No AVOD maps? So terrorists can't look at their watch and determine hey, we are about to land? If a woman is involved in the next attempt, will bras be forbidden in future flights? This is serious stuff, but lets enact serious and appropriate measures to help prevent future issues. |
Off to sit for Praxis I. Thoughts, prayers, and illicit emails with test answers would be much appreciated. :-:

My hopes for an upgrade during my first SPG Plat stay are pretty low right now. SPG.com is showing zero availability for any room type on the first night of our stay... :(

I guess nothing going on in AUS or SAt for boxers....I got to get planned on this quickly otherwise I am going to be fearing driving around once more snow comes. these idiots are crazy. I am not scared for myself driving, but evasive maneuvers become

CO stock is taking the biggest hit of the airline stocks for some reason.
Edit: It's because they expect CO to have the biggest down turn of quick trip business travel because of the new stuff, in particular in BF travel. |
It just occurred to me that Wells Fargo is probably the slowest institution in the world. They're now saying the conversion of Wachovia branches in the East will go through 2011.
Seems like they're being cautious and prudent until you consider that JPM gobbled up and discarded WaMu in only a matter of months, with no major catastrophes (unlike our friends, the Canucks at TD). I guess the horses leading the stagecoach are tired. </random> |
