Not bad. We're doing a Smokey Mo's Smoked Turkey, Mackie's Loaded Smashed Taters, green bean casserole, sweet potato casserole, dressing, gravy, and beer! I think there is some cranberry sauce for those who like that sort of thing but the real treat is dessert, where there will be buttermilk pie (zomg) and a few fruit pies for those that like them.
In-laws are here, my parents are on their way up from IAH, and we're buying a house today. It is good. :D Mmmmmm! I love sweet potato casserole. We decided not to do the "traditional" Christmas Day lunch of Turkey and trimmings. We did this at Thanksgiving, and I'm not a big turkey eater. Life is looking good for the MackieMan household - and we in the Box are happy that that is so. |

I seem to be the only stupid sap who is even attempting to do work here today. I had really hoped to take all of next week off, and by getting some stuff done today, I think I can at least only have to work on Monday. I am rolling over a bunch of vacation this year.
Well, my plan worked -- we booked a cheap room at the 4PTS near where we are celebrating Christmas Eve tonight (2 blocks) so we don't need to worry about drinking and driving. My reservation now shows we are in a suite -- thanks SPG! |
