I can just hear her argument now:
GA: that box is too big, we have to check it
Lady: but it's a wedding dress

GA: do I need to call the police

That doesn't sound good.

Hopefully this is something that ORD can handle relatively easily.

I only have 5 more days of vacation and I'm hoping to miss any crappy weather when I go back to work on Sunday.

Great Southern Snowstorm, part deux, doesn't look like it will be possible for that date. GFS keeps predicting a massive cold dump into the South on the 8-16 day long-range, but it never happens.

Hooray. I like going home on time.

I'm sure ORD is better able to handle the weather than the DCA area. Hopefully your flight departs at a non-bank peak hours.

We just got a look at the new bid (start date in Jan) and it looks like I will remain working in the BS (baggage service) department for another few months.^

UGH, parents leave out on Sunday for LAS. I was going to take them to the airport. Hmmm, may have to rethink that.

And our poop video of the day! (Video is not graphic BTW)

I can't find any words to describe the need to make this video!

I built a 5-hour layover in at ORD, and my IAH-ORD flight is mainline UA (less likely to be cancelled in the event of sloppy weather, I would hope).

Since they opened the new 9L/27R on the far north side of the field, things have been better in foul weather. Expect the usual delays for deicing. Plus, when the poop hits the spinning blades, they usually keep the international destinations going. It's the folks flying ORD-MSN who get hosed, not ORD-IST.

Your hope is well-placed. It's usually the UX routes than get canned first.

Right, but I have to get to ORD first. I suspect my IAH-ORD flight originates from ORD that morning, when the worst of the frozen precip is supposed to be falling (it should change over to rain by afternoon).

If it looks  on Thursday, I may just see if UA will put me on CO. The CO flights will be originating from IAH, and will likely have no issues going into ORD by afternoon. I wonder how that sort of scenario plays out on a BD award ticket.

The UA forum has a thread about the weather this week. Maybe you can send a PM to United PR and ask for his advice. He's a good guy that set up a Flyertalk invite to United's Fleet Week that I was at this past October.
