The problem was I was booked on EWR-HKG on Dec 26th so the CM agent at EZE was able to get us on DL flight EZE-ATL-LGA.

I still don't know how I feel about doing that flight.

PTY - EZE is only 41nm longer than ANC - IAH. :-:

And trust me, THAT flight hurts... especially when you are doing it in Y.

CO supposedly behaves the same way. In fact, when asked why only 4 SWUs CO Insider explicitly said to control costs. I have to wonder if CO really felt that not offering SWUs was a revenue negative event or if they just are trying to normalize the UA relationship and each side is making small steps in the direction of the other (e.g. EUAs).

Me thinks a little of both as they knew the lack of international upgrades would push some high revenue passengers over to UA if they did not normalize the relationship and programs.

I once flew PTY-SCL and it felt like quite a longer haul than I had expected. It was really just a matter of perception but it came back to back with MIA-PTY and those two constituted a lot of mileage in those 73Gs, even in first.

No different than the 15+ hours in Y from EWR-HKG. :p

That is a much bigger plane than a 737 used on PTY-EZE.

Copa's card is much better :D

I see some wake turbulence issues ahead however.

On a happy note - we finally got our construction permits. Yeah! The "big dig" is scheduled to begin on Monday. Please pray that the snow stays away!

Congratulations! :-: Let's hope your big dig goes better than Boston's.;):D

If CO was just doing a "quid pro quo" dance, wouldn't it have revenue restricted the SWUs to be akin to UA? I also think and have posed the questions to the denizens of this den of dubiousness that CO will ultimately offer more SWUs above the 4 next year at target thresholds of some number. If going by "market", then 25K EQMs intervals, but no one can be proof positive.

I was thinking they limited it to four for exactly that reason, they allow them to be used on any flight.

When I first made EXP on AA, I did the DFW-ANC run several times in "Y" on the 757. It was not terrible.

Nice...definitely leading the pack for this year's best, IMO.

They've heard enough commentary from us at the various events (Dos, etc.) that revenue-restricted SWUs sucked. They compromised on fewer but more useful. I'm OK with that.

Agreed. CO Insider left an opening for that when I asked about it in the original thread.

When you're gargantuan it's a whole other story. :)

I did EWR-NRT in Y. It was Possible, but the free middle seat helped (we moved up from the rkkwan special since it was a lightly loaded flight). :-:
