OK, off to buy a late lunch/early dinner. Not really wanting to go out, it's about 37C degrees here in SYD.

There was something in teh Box that night. The stars were bright ALCO. They were shining there for you and me and for the PWP ALCO. Though we never thought that we would get UDU. We have no regret. If I had to do the same again I would my friend ALCO:-:

Thank you. Some of us who grew up hearing the likes of ABBA on the radio frequently in our very early years still have an appreciation for Europop of the Sweedish big hair crazy costume variety.

I swear my earliest pop music memories are of "Dancing Queen" playing nonstop on the radio, disco, and my mother playing "Love Will Keep Us Together" by The Captain and Tennille on the stereo's record player far too much.

Abba and Glee? I'm off to make that martini.

And a great martini it is - a total of four shots.

My addiction to the awesomeness that is the Box wouldn't let me stay a silent lurker any longer.

Welcome. No need to be ashamed of the awesomeness of the Box.

Did I meet you in Frankfurt? It was all such a blur....

Canon PowerShot SD series. :-:

Quality, but the battery thing can be annoying. The A series is not much larger generally and does AA batteries. Nice on long trips or remote trips.

Yet.

They've got a Pot Belly's shop in one of the terminals. And the moon buggies are gone. I've never cleared immigration there but otherwise it is just another crappy airport. No better nor worse than many others.

Also acceded to comments about battery life / proprietary batteries and went with one that takes standard rechargeables.

Winner.

Or maybe the Count of Monte Boxto, but probably not. I like it for using the word "count" as well, but that is the wrong meaning of the word count and apparently I'm anal about that sort of thing.

Don't forget about "Muskrat Love."

Ben's music recommendation of the night - Rhapsody in Blue, as performed by Marcus Roberts.

I think it's what Gershwin would've written had he been been alive when the great jazz of the '50s/60s was written.

I saw him perform it with his trio and the Chicago Symphony a couple years back as a Christmas gift from my in-laws. If you have any appreciation for jazz, get it.

In all fairness to IAD, it is Terminal A with UAX that is really the stinker. Mainline operations are much better in the other terminals. I just have awful luck with IAD, and I was connecting into it via Mesa which is not exactly the greatest regional in the world. I grant a full YMMV.

Ahhh, mile coupons. I remember when the airlines would send you 5k coupons after every 5k you earned.

Wow, I suddenly feel old.

Speaking of Gershwin, this is one of my favorite CDs.

Not completely true. The big difference is that you don't need to outlay the cash for the more expensive fare thus playing the chance game.

Honestly, a AA/UA style SWU would be nice, but it will be hard to get. I would honestly also be happy having vouchers that eliminate the cash portion and just let me upgrade outright with miles.
