icurhere2, if you do go for a new BlackBerry, do wait a week or two for the new 9700 to launch. It's all the goodness that the 8900 has, plus a lot more. If I was still using a single device for combined work and personal use, that's what I would have gone for.

ALCObot is operational. :-:

Anyone around Houston on the 25th of Nov? Starwood Lurker will be in town so I thought a pre Thanksgiving mini do was in order. |

TMo in NYC was actually completely useless a couple years back. Their "lag" in coverage/speed meant that their towers in mid-town were terribly over-subscribed. They dealt with this by dropping data connections and giving preference to voice that was very bad for many of my customers, including one who was part of their legal team. Oops. |

You all can't stand that I still have a scroll wheel, can you? ;)
I've moved up in the world. Personal phone is touch screen now. I MUCH prefer it. And I have a D-pad for navigation too if I really want scroll wheel type functionality. RIM really needs a hybrid touch screen and hardware keyboard device. I haven't tried the new trackpad that replaced the trackball, but a true touch screen is still a much better option for most navigation. |

I don't want to bring attention to myself with TMo - part of my very inexpensive Blackberry is being on a pricing plan that doesn't exist any more. Been off-contract for two years and they don't seem to mind.
As far as the off-contract thing is concerned, of course they don't care. They have built the cost of new phone subsidization into the monthly rates and if you do not take a new phone at the end of every contract, you are screwing yourself since you are paying for it anyway. |

I plan on signing up my wife as well. Duh. Think that they'll give me crap for redeeming after they realize that I've filed a lawsuit against them?? :p

The new window feeder on my second story office window has gotten some attention. I have had a steady stream of nuthatches, house finches, chickadees and bluejays as I sit through this boring con call.
