The new Thompson lie-flat seats on the DL 767-400s are pretty good and maybe about as good business class seats as you are going to get anywhere. The only seats that are better are some of the FC seats you will find around with the best of these in the US domestic fleets right now being on (surprise) UA in their 747s.
I would advise sitting as far back in the cabin that is comfortable to you, maybe row 8 or 9 of 10. This is mandated by a number of factors, first being that there is no lav in the front, the second being that the galley lights carry at least to the first four or five rows and the third that in the middle of the night, if anyone in the crew is preparing a meal for himself, the odor carries well into the cabin. You might not get your choice of meals but the DL food has really been improved and on that flight (DTW-LHR) was very good and all of the choices were more than acceptable. If you are alone, the odd window rows actually get you close to the windows but if you are in company, the middle two are quite good for selective socializing because they are close (but not too close) together. LHR at 0830 arrival was a zoo. The wait at the border control was about 3/4 hour for non EU or UK passports but a bit of consolation was that a Saturday arrival spares you the morning traffic into Central London. |

I am experimenting with alcohol this evening. Cruzan Rum + Spiced Apple Cider (non-alcoholic) + Key Lime Juice = ^

Wembley for football is pretty good. The place was completely renovated about three or four years ago and has lots of creature comforts (although lousy grandstand food).
The first eight or ten rows of seats were too low to see properly so, instead of as was the practice at places that were built mainly for baseball or for multiple sports such as the old Vet at Philly, they were covered and not sold. The lower grandstand was terraced and about two-thirds of the way up the entrances coincided with that terracing so that the upper rows in the lower deck were pretty good with the prize seats in the whole building being the first terrace row. The game itself was a bit of a stinker. That did not matter much to the crowd which seemed to be enjoying it to the max. There was an electricity and excitement around the place that reminded me of a very important NFL playoff game (maybe even the Super Bowl). Imagine my surprise at the loud cheer when the first point after touchdown kick went through the posts. The Bucs are really awful but the Pats played right down to them and allowed them to dream at halftime of being in the game, this being a team that the Giants did not allow to get a first down until the third quarter. But that did not seem to be much of a factor to the crowd although I did hear a comment on the way home that this game was not as good as the first two that had been played there. If you enjoy football and get a chance to get there for the game, by all means go. It certainly is an experience. |

Key Limes make good food, too. Key Lime Pie is my favorite dessert. Second place goes to Pumpkin Pie, making this one of my :D times of year.
