I'm off today and running errands on my way to the girlfriend's house, so I can't be relied upon for my usual dry wit all day. I can post all day when I'm at work.

The last three weeks I haven't slept well for no apparent reason. This morning I feel totally out of it because I didn't have time to get any breakfast or for a quick stop in the hotel lobby to get a cup of coffee. And the coffee at my client is nasty.

Tomorrow will be an early morning for me too. I have a 7:40 AM flight back to IAH, and then on to CHA a few hours later.

BTW, on Monday's drive up to CHA from Atlanta, I saw a SkyBus billboard advertising flights from CHA to Ohio on I-75 in Northern Georgia. It made it sound like everyone was just dying to fly CHA-CMH for a really cheap fare. It was quite funny to see it still standing there months after SkyBus kicked the bucket.

Ahh, Cawfee Tawk with FlyahTawk. Does anyone out there actually like weak coffee? If my coffee doesn't taste like battery acid, it just doesn't do it for me. But then again, I started drinking coffee at 18 months old (true, no joke) and I'm turning 28 in a few months. I might be at an advanced stage of addiction.

Ambien and fine Hungarian wine have been my friends as I have struggled to adjust to working life here in BUD. Luckily there is also a small coffee shop on the walk to the office that makes me "long" double shots of espresso (espresso plus hot water to extend the pleasure of drinking it).

Yes, there are people who like it so weak it looks like tea. I used to work with an older lady who was the Administrative Assistant at our office. She often made the coffee. Not only did she think that Folgers was good coffee, but she put so little of it in the coffee maker that it came out about the color of a dark green tea. She thought it was good, but not as good as the Sanka she drank at home.:eek::eek:

My coworker and I would just make a morning run to the Starbucks across the street when we worked there. Our Admin always questioned why we wasted our money on Starbucks when she made coffee for us every day, but the coworker and I were both in agreement that it was worth the $25 a week we were spending at Starbucks for not only avoiding the Admin's nasty coffee, but also to get us out of that awful office for half an hour.

+1. Strong, black and no sugar.

I had the same issue with nasty coffee at my last office, combined with a COO who made it one of her missions to outline process statements and procedures for the coffer maker.

Luckily, a small local coffee shop opened in the lobby so I didn't need to fend off the elements when seeking my morning fix!

How are you liking BUD? It's a place I've been curious about and thinking about visiting.

I'm a simple man and I like my coffee from Dunkin Donuts. Last week the Dunkin Donuts I would stop at on my way to work had a fire and is closed so I was substituting the coffee bar downstairs. The coffee bar is OK, but it's not Dunkin. Today I couldn't stand it so I stopped at the other Dunkin on my way to work* (the burned up one was a drive through ^)and got a cup. It wasn't bad which surprised me because I stopped there in the past and wasn't very good.

*On my commute to work I'll pass by 4 Dunkins, well, 3 now, but for various reasons none of them are convenient.

I like mine strong, but with a little cream.

We use a coffee press at home and go through >1 lb. of coffee every 5-6 days.

Here at work we have one of those single serving machines and I put one cup in, press the "4" button and it fills my mug up halfway. I put another cup in, press "4" again, and get a fairly strong mug full of coffee.

ALCO would be proud, I had a Malbec a few nights ago and I spotted a Lambic Ale(s) in a local eatery. ;)

Summertime is Lambic Time ^. I have yet to find a Malbec I liked, though. Perhaps I've just been getting lousy wines when in Argentina, but I'm quite partial to Chilean Reds.

It is a great walkable city with wonderful architecture, cuisine and wine. Compared to the rest of the EU it is pretty affordable and not overly touristy.

Flight wise, CO uses Air France codeshare (Air France and Malev metal) connections through CDG to get here.

I'll have to add that to my potential New Year's travel list. Right now, Hokkaido is my first choice, but I can't find any *A flights back from Asia after New Year's. Morocco and Madeira are also in the mix.

I hear MLK Weekend 2009 will also be Lambic Time. ;)

Don't forget that DL flies here from JFK as well.
