RDMs are decent enough, I guess – right around 5,615. I'm more interested in the massive EQMs I can rack up thanks to UA's overly generous routing rules concerning connections.

NW (but not DL) has similar rules. While status miles are indeed critical, the RDMs and cost savings have been far easier to explain to my family and friends than upgrade instruments.

For instance, I'm earning ~55,000 rdms on this trip for just over $300 - I get a Y trip to ZRH and an F trip to AUA (60,000 miles) for less than half the cheapest BNA-AUA Y fare. Family understands and doesn't question this. My ATL-KOA trip via DTW, CVG, LAX, etc. during 3.5*MQM days didn't make sense to them at all.

Did you go watch the DragonCon parade?

Pop quiz time. Where did this CO 738 just touch down at? [Note: this is a regularly scheduled flight. No tricks.]

The catenary on the bridge is an Asian design so I'll say NRT?

They have links, they get google indexing and clicks through to their spamvertized page. They are not data mining so much as getting paid to post for linkage.

vB setup = my forums using vBulletin. :)

Got it. Thanks for the education.

Use-fee scamming

Spam/scam linkage is small potatoes relative to a great uncle, if not the granddaddy, of the use-fee scams: pay phone 800 number dialing. They would simply lease a few pay phone lines, and set autodialers to dialing 800 numbers.

At the time, a 31 second (maybe less; don't remember for sure) connect cost the owner of the 800 0.35, paid to the owner of the payphone. The autodialers would connect (say, Avis or CO), stay connected for 31 secs, and hang up. There were a couple of kids in Phoenix who did this to the tune of like $600K. All legal then, and would have gotten away, but they decided to evade the taxes on the income.

As Al Capone found out two generations earlier, the tax law has teeth even when the bunko laws don't.

Yes. This is the third year I've been. My partner has friends from Baltimore who come every year for DragonCon, so he stayed downtown to hang out with them today. I've been told not to expect him home until after a concert that may not end until around 3:00 AM .

I have 27 flights personal flights booked for between now and the end of the year. And, I still have at least 6 more flights (2 round trips) that I need to purchase as well...

I'm on track for over 125k BIS miles this year - an all time high for me.

Tom Delay is going to be on dancing with the stars.

I'm really hungry right now. I have nothing in the house but I want something quick and tasty, possibly tangy and or tart or spicy

I forget the brand name, but I got it at Kohl's. Kohl's cash + coupon + 15% off at the shelf = panini maker for $17. :D

That sounds yummy. Won't the avacado mellow out the the prosciutto to the point of it not being there?

I ended up doing turkey, bacon and sliced wet mozzarella with avocado. Prosciutto was entirely separate.

I periodically drive by this house that is undergoing a massive rehab. It's kind of hard to see, but the window in the upper left sets my :rolleyes:CD off every time I see it. I think they have the shade down to make it less noticeable.

Greetings from Canadia. No problems at all with the border folk. DL tried to lose a bag of mine but failed.

Apparently the Toronto Air Show is this weekend. I wonder if I missed all of it already.
