Boeing now expects the first flight of its 787 Dreamliner by the end of the year, with its first delivery projected for late 2010, as the company reinforces parts of the next-generation plane. Boeing's shares rose in premarket trading.

Boeing announced its latest Dreamliner delay two months ago, saying then the plane wouldn't fly by mid-year as planned because of structural troubles. At the time Boeing said it would be several weeks before it released a revised timetable for the plane, which is already two years behind schedule.

I figured they were going to make an annoucement of some sorts this week with all the Chicago people out in Washington this week. Not holding my breath though.

Why aren't there any SPG properties with a shuttle to/from MSP? :(

My UA bookings are going to require an overnight in MSP before and after the flying as well as an overnight in GEG...

Thats pretty much why I didnt jump on it. I think it would be cool to try the premium cabin on other carriers but the TOTAL cost of positioning and hotels killed it for me especially since I wouldnt be able to do multiple runs. There will always be another deal out there somewhere...

The only SPG property near the airport is the Sheraton in Bloomington, and it's not really right by the airport. They don't have a shuttle any more? They used to.

It's still a really good fare... :)

SPG.com says their shuttle service was stopped in May.

Mornin' box.

.bomb support has fixed one of my two broken MSP-GEG itins. Now, if they could only fix the one for $2300. I figure if they don't, since it's refundable and I have a receipt saying $155, I can always dispute it. :D

I've decided to not refund my US/UA purchases from last night. I've got another chance to wimp out later when I look into actual positioning costs, but I actually want to fly them. And I'm only in for $280 of non-refundability should it come to that.

I just whipped out teh calculator and discovered that between now and the end of November, I will earn 165,694 BD mi. for ~$1,500 in spend (not counting positioning flights). 0.9cpm ^

I now have 100K BIS booked between now and year's end (including award redemptions). :D

They discontinued it a couple of months ago. It's a good 7 mile trek from the airport down I-494 (albeit a quick drive).

Still a

That sucks.

Granted, I've never stayed there, but I've not heard particularly good things about that property.

If you really want to stay with SPG, there are a couple of hotels downtown that are great and convenient to the light rail, which has a station in the airport terminal.

Otherwise, if you want to stay with SPG near the airport I guess it's a taxi or a car… or a different hotel that offers a shuttle.

Drive by that property daily - it just doesn't look appealing on the outside. Crowne Plaza on the other side of 494 looks a lot nicer.

Very nice.

Best as I can figure, I'll go over 55K half way through my first GEG run. I think that means I'm at ~70K points for the next 2.5 runs at a cost of ~$325. I find it hard to believe that I'm doing this math correctly.

kingalien Aug 27, 2009 8:41 am

I have six itineraries in my UA account for 2010 and none of them launch from home base (LAX) :D.

kingalien Aug 27, 2009 8:43 am

Somehow searching the GEG deal on US does not feel the same as searching on UA :p.

COFlyerCLE Aug 27, 2009 8:53 am

I just booked the W-Chicago Lakeshore. I hope that was a wise move. The reviews on this property are fairly
