I've seen trouble all my days/
I've bid farewell to old Kentucky the place where I was born and bred.

There's a valid motion and second, now it's appropriate to ask for discussion.

In other news....

So I wanted to move my OTH-SFO up from Friday to tomorrow. UA sez: "Sorry, the nonstops are sold out both tomorrow and wednesday, the soonest I can get you out is Thursday afternoon at 3p (only 24hrs up from original), and that'll be $150. Or, I can get you to PDX and thence PDX-SFO, tomorrow, and that'll be $952.xx."

So I look at CO to see what my options are for doing PDX-IAH-MAF, where I'll just have to drive/ride with a colleague up there.... "Certainly, Mr. COFreqFlyer, we can change your SFO-IAH-MAF to PDX-IAH-MAF, that'll be $5.00, and I see 1F is available on the PDX-IAH flight, would you like that seat?"

So I get to spend 4 hours in a car tomorrow, and will be home Wednesday evening, instead of twiddling my thumbs in this exotic destination until Thursday, connecting to an SFO-IAH-MAF flight on Friday. Yeah, I think I can tolerate the drive.

And yes, I got to fight the  of UA telephone customer support when I informed them that instead of flying them, I would get on another carrier, sooner, faster, and less expensively than what they were wanting to charge.

Why, oh why, am I dreading CO's entry into :-:A?

I was at a loss for words the first time that we spoke.

Olton Hall Aug 24, 2009 10:30 pm

This is usually done with the following:

"There is a motion on the floor and seconded; any discussion?"
