Let's not get ahead of ourselves. It's still August. I've seen this happen before. False hope of an early Fall, followed by a 100+ heatwave in September. The Sun is a crafty and unforgiving enemy. Do not be fooled.

Interesting ...
I actually just got in from a rather disappointing dinner at Bourbon Steak. I had the Kobe beef RARE, and while it was cooked properly, anywhere the skillet/grill touched as so salty as to be noticeable by me mr foodie. I believe it was the olive brine that may have taken it over the edge salt wise :( I did not complain they were actually very busy today and I did not feel like making a scene. It was complimented by Sungold tomato Gazpacho with maine lobster, avacado, and basil it was surely a winner of a dish, and the sorbet's again were good but blackberry is down at the bottom on my personal likes list. The cream cheese sorbet last time was so much better. also had a repeat on the coconut lime sorbet, a solid choice, and coconut apple, alright but not a fav. |

Mrs. photog72 has asked me to use miles to upgrade her to F R/T IAH-BOS. She has a lap child. One who does not cry. Some have witnessed her demeanor. She's a very happy child. Even w/ the change of air pressure she seems to be okay (as evidenced by our trip to DEN). My wife looks at it as a space issue, meaning more space for the baby to spread out on her lap. Though, she can forget about the meal in F. She would have a shot at eating the meal in Y. Opinions? What would other pax in F think? |
Mike, sorry to hear about the stones. My dad & my sis both had them and I'd wish then on nobody. :(
I had an My car has been misbehaving and it misbehaved enough that I dropped it at the Firestone place near my office. I've bought tires and had alignments done there and they've been fine. After 2 days of , they decided they could not fix it. The "general electric module" failed and it requires a trip to a dealer. My dealer, whom I like, has online service scheduling - first available appointment, September 14. I'll be dropping it off in the AM. I asked to figure what the employees were going to be costumed in at our new chocolate store. I was told to think "cute and young." My thought was to play off a cooking theme with either an updated version of a chef's coat or maybe an abbreviated apron. We'd be having whatever made to spec, but I was looking for some direction. What Google revealed I thought our company normally blocked. We'll see in the AM if the 'Net Patrol have any issues with my online travels. At the homestead I had a box from the Pure Sleep® people - my anti-snoring device has arrived, much to baglady's delight. Open the carton and I see something that looks a lot like my Jr High retainer case. Inside is something that looks like my flag football mouth guard. I read the directions and yes, boil in hot water, shove in mouth and mold to bite. However, at $69.95 plus tax, license, dealer prep, your actual mileage may very; not exactly a bargain. It makes me gag, we'll see if I can sleep in it. If it does work, my chances of not being murdered in sleep will greatly improved. |

They don't understand the concept of points; all they understand is cheap. And besides, wouldn't I have to book the res in my name and list her parents as guests?

It isn't pricey stuff, in fact it is debug/test gear, I didn't care too much if it got damaged in checked to be honest, I just was being cheap. no huge loss, 2 hours later to FLL, and modified dinner reservation.

Being from Maryland, I would much prefer homemade Maryland Blue Crab. However, these were the premium store-made cakes heavily subsidized by Beck's beer ($15 rebate on seafood for buying a six-pack).

Out of curiosity, how did you get that to price out? I fly WN whenever I go to California, but would consider flying CO if the price is right.

I'm skipping dinner today. Just water. Had a rather large lunch. There is an L&L Hawaiian BBQ near my work in Los Angeles, only my second time there. I found they have an Atkins Super Plate lunch. Two grilled chicken thighs, grilled sliced beef, a slice of short ribs and two eggs (got them overhard and chucked the yolk). No two scoops of rice or macaroni salad which is standard on their other lunch plates.
Oh boy, mouth watering just typing this. |
