Because the bean counters at CO want more of your money. It's the only airline that does that.

The post office is set to lose $7 billion this year and could go bankrupt, yet they keep raising the price of stamps. Can anyone explain the logic.

Still here in PC at SAT waiting for delayed flight.

There's a woman on her cellphone. Actually, she doesn't really need a cellphone she is TALKING SO LOUDLY. The entire freaking club is part of her conversation. Sheesh!:mad:

Only another hour to wait .... If she doesn't tone it down soon I think I will have to drop the sublte  and sighs and just tell her to shut the *** up.

Let us know how that works out for you. :D

The UAUA doesn't charge you extra either, so you do have other options.

If you do tell her off use your best English accent so that she will take it nicely and thank you for telling her off.

Rumor has it that DL is dropping SLC-NRT. If that is true, that didn't last long.

I'd travel with the guy always one degree away from disaster. :-: It's the guy 0 degrees that you have to avoid. @:-)

Huge fixed costs coupled with a declining revenue stream that outstrips stamp increases? :-:

SLC is hot and high during the summer, as well as taxing the limits of the aircraft. So surprised I am not.

I predict NRT-PDX is next to get the ax.

The price we pay for postage is trivial to the post office. Their true cash cow is direct mail. Volume is down because conversion rates are down. They are losing a lot of money from big customers and can't fix that. The 42, 44 or 65 cents we pay to mail a birthday card to grandma doesn't matter at that scale.

The city paid a ton of cash to keep that flight, right? Or was that PDX-AMS?

Also since they are a regulated monopoly, demand for first-class mail is more or less price inelastic. Mail volume is down for many reasons, but I wouldn't think the cost of stamps is necessarily one of them.
