wow the car shop was busy, 10 cars in front of my when I got there, about 20 when I left!

It was quick lube express with state inspection station too, I have to say though to be out in an hour with that long line was impressive for a 3 bay shop!

Thanks guys. And apparently I am not that nerd because I knew none of this. :D (after posting I found a link on Wikipedia too.) All very good information!

Generally, if you add a 0 to the end of the runway number you get the orientation of the "takeoff" end off the runway.

At AUS, since the runways are parallel, the southbound approach could be either runway 17R or 17L.

I've lost another 2.4 pounds since the last post-racquetball weigh-in a few days ago; I guess walking the 55-acre Botanical Gardens Saturday made up for having fried chicken for lunch Saturday.

Celebrating with a beer now, Trader Joe's Mandarin Orange Chicken in the oven. In years past, I might eat most of that bag (950 calories); don't see that happening tonight.

Interesting point. I have found recently that thinking 180-degree counterintuitively often yields the quickest and most accurate answer.

It would suck to be throwing your tux on and having an unpacked suitcase waiting for you on your return.

I see according to an article on Yahoo that career fairs are a waste of time. Of course I read this two days before going to one. Makes me wonder if I should bother wasting my time and money to go to Brooklyn.

I've missed too much Hannah Montana. Things have happened I didn't know about. In 2 minutes, I'm all caught up. :o

In retrospect, I should have ran with that. It would have been more fun than arguing with dip$hit loonballs on the toobz.

Disagree. I landed a job at a career fair. Law of averages.

Plus1 is going to LA this weekend, which leaves BL JR and I on our own. I asked her what she wanted to do on our fun filled weekend (unless a good CO special comes along) and here is her list:
Go to the movies (I can't decide which I want to be more tortured with - G Force or Aliens in the Attic)
Eat popcorn at the movies
Get drinks at the movies
(detailed isn't she)
Go to a museum (She really wants to go to the Museum of Natural History, but I think I'll do that on a week day, not weekend)
Go to some stores and buy things
Spend our money
Go to the Space Center

I'm not sure "our" is in spending "our" money.

Takes a lot of conscious choices - that's why I was posting about the number of calories in the "Fiber One" pop-tarts and the "Lean Gourmets" that were actually 1.5 servings ... My true realization is this - my metabolism is a lot higher than I thought but my calorie intake is severely out-of-whack. I would eat a bag (e.g. the $4 one) of potato chips and not think about it.

Sorry to hear that. Get well soon - at least take the advice of a Box-denizen's wife in that cold/flu medication is largely alcohol.

Ok, one more question - is there any way to find out ahead of time what runway/direction a flight will be using? (I'm still sorting through the links you provided so if it is there, my apologies!). I looked at Flightaware and similar websites but did not see that specific information. Since they seem to lag a bit real time, once the heading does show up, it's usually too late.

The planes are pretty low over my house and if I have friends/family arriving I sometimes go out to see if I can see their plane (and take the appropriate photo). So maybe I am a mini-nerd..
