In fairness to CNN, I saw a segment earlier today that showed the Smithsonian employees who are responsible for maintaining Armstrong's suit.

They do not practice this concept; IMHO it should not be extended to them in return. :D

I love our bedroom ceiling fan. It makes it much more pleasant up there. Summer :rolleyes: or winter  it gets all the heat and it's necessary to have one. The only trouble is I got a 'remote control' for it and someone else control interferes with it. Midnight, usually the morning,it'll either turn off or down to the lowest setting.:rolleyes::mad:

If I had to do it over again I'd get a wired switch. It doesn't make sense that it's a remote as the thing is firmly ensconced in the wall anyway and I have to get up each time some wayward wave trips its circuit.:rolleyes::rolleyes::mad::mad::mad:

Sad, isn't it? Such a historic event and so little on it?

Me too. I figured I was too old (which, apparently, is not true), but mostly I don't want people I vaguely knew and didn't like in junior high to find me.

I was one of those people who pretty much got along with everyone. I have no real enemies was my school days.

Houstonians, the MFAH is having a special exhibit on the Space Program starting Sept. 25th. If you have any interest and are not a MFAH member, PM me and I'm happy to take you. I believe I can take 3 with me at a time. Plus1 and I are planning on going to opening night on the 25th.

I'm glad to hear that. History is one of the channels that disappeared when C:rolleyes:mcast moved everything around a while ago. Without a cable box we've lost a few stations. Of course, we've got TVs with QAM tuners, but according to C:rolleyes:mcast that'll change come July 28th. They're sending us some boxes that they say we'll need after that date. I HATE CABLE BOXES. If our TV has a digital tuner and already gets local stations in HD why do I need some dumb ugly box to sit there and suck power. I'd simply disconnect the cable, but the other three members of the Xyzzy clan would be most unhappy. I'd better sign off before I REALLY start to rant.

I was waiting for a showing of the excellent BBC show on the moon landings. I don't think it ever made it onto US TV. Sadly, I can't play it from the BBC web site (I'm on the wrong side of the pond).

History is one of my favorite channels (although my social studies teaching license from MD is now lapsed). Charter has (thus far) allowed me to keep non-digital cable without a box, so I get 69 TV channels and cable modem for $65 a month.

That free box from Comcrap is low level analog. You have to tune your TV to channel 3 or 4 to use it to give you a clue how crappolo it is.

The Smithsonian is one of my most favorite places on Earth!

We have a remote. Do you really think anyone but me controls the fan speed?:cool:

Do you think there is a message there? At least they don't charge you a $ per channel.

Well, duh. :D But at least when she walked past me at CNN Center she wasn't talking. I won't sit there and watch her daypart and drool over her, because I refuse to give CNN the ratings and I intensely disagree with their slant. Lucky for me that Google Images don't talk back when I search them. ;)

No message - I wanted only the cable modem (because my DSL sucked) but it was cheaper with the cable television added.

If I had stuck with economics/for broadcast journalism my internship would have been with CNN. No regrets here (keep in mind CNN is not what it is today).
