The area code I lived in during high school split shortly after I graduated college and almost no one got to keep their old numbers with the new area code. So, I lost contact with all kinds of friends and acquaintances. (Remember, I'm old, there was no email back then.) I also worked in an industry where turnover approached 100% and lI ost a lot of contacts when I moved to the opposite coast. Facebook has let me find a number of old folks I've been thrillled to reestablish contact with. However, if I get poked or sent any more poker chips I may just pull the plug. |
