Missed the prize in your box, did ya?
I would say compensation is in order. Write Borden, yet? |
Good evening B:rolleyes:x!
The bags are back home in the Pit. It is a tad warmer here than in either EDI or Saint-Malo. I played Gullane #1 in the sleet last Thursday. Major yikes. I'd rented a manual Passat. When I checked the reservation before we left, Hertz had changed it to a manual Ford Mondeo. When I picked up the car, it had turned into an automatic diesel Volvo XC60. (Not bad for £133 for the week!) We put about 400 miles on the car, went through exactly 1,243 round-abouts and was only flipped off one time. I found EDI drivers to be both courteous and safe; gee, just like folks in IAH. I liked the car and I think I am pretty glad I didn't end up with a manual transmission. Our routine was me playing golf in the AM and us exploring a castle in the afternoon. Last Friday was a rainout (the Marriott folks are wimps, everybody else would had been open even if it the middle of the Great Flood, though only stupid Americans would have been playing.) The Dalmahoy was beautiful. Our room was fine, but it was lots of stairs (up & down) to go anywhere. The maid service was a bit , but we lived. I lost baglady's Garmin on our last day in Edinburgh and am bummed. I've emailed everywhere it might have gone AWOL and still hold out some hope. |

So I kind of expected Gaylord Opryland to be an expansive place but this is ridiculous. I thought I could just walk to the convention center everyday and not pay any parking fee but that does not look like that will happen .

jenbell took us out twice in EDI. Once for drinks at The Dome and for dinner at Wedgwood, an amazing little 12 table restaurant on the Royal Mile. Big thumbs up for both places and for Jenny's hospitality. |

Internet access at the Marriott Dalmahoy was whopping £30 per 24 hour period; the Sheraton CDG was €42 a day. At least the Sheraton had a lounge with computers to use....
On checkout the desk tried to charge me the 42 Euros but I denied having consented to pay even though I did realize that I seemed to have been on more than an hour. A quick investigation showed him that I indeed had not signed up for the service and the charge was removed. ^ |

Why do I think that there were a whole lot less stairs at the Dalmahoy than there were where you spent most of Saturday afternoon? :D
True dat. We must have climbed 10,000 stairs that day. I didn't think baglady was going to make it. She was a real trooper. ^ |

Is something up with CO.com? It's only got two offers on the main page... One is for online checking. The other is for enrolling in OnePass...

Plus1, did you get the gift I left on your Facebook? :D
