belynch where are you staying in Maui?

Haven't booked it yet, but I reckon the Westin.

Unless anyone has any better ideas.

Agree, but was wondering if ALCO has pics of NW tired seats then CO should be represented.

I actually realized this weekend that I didn't have any CO BF photos... so I snapped some on the 762. I got upright and partial-recline photos (along with plenty of LA J photos). ^

US leisure carrier with a centralized Caribbean hub. It works on paper.

I used to. Now I just bust out the D-SLR upon boarding and snap photos like mad before the cabin fills up with . The only airline that gave me any guff about it was Aeroflot.

Yikes.

I heard an unconfirmable story while I was deployed about one of the women that I was over there with. She was active duty and, like so many kids right out of the schoolhouse, drew Korea (Kunsan, IIRC) as her first duty station. All hands were sent to the crash site of an F-16...picking up parts, looking for certain things, etc. This young Airman supposedly, according to legend, found the pilot's helmet facing down in the mud. She picked it up to find said pilot's head still encased.

I'll take "Things that will ruin your day" for $1,000, Alex.

Anyone want ACY-MBJ on their FM?

Well, The westin is nice though it's annoying. Tons of kids running around, noisy and you have to be down pretty early to grab chairs at the pool or beach. There have been kids running around the adult pool and hot tub and all the pools are clustered together.

The Sheraton may be nicer as it seems to be a bit further up and secluded.

The rest of my stay was at the Marriott Wailea and while it doesn't have a beach of it's own, the property is really nice and there were no kids in or near the adult pool at all.

The pools are all separated by buildings so there isn't much overflow from one to the other.

While I'm a FM line whore like any good box denzien, the thought of enduring Spirit for that long says no.

Apparently CO has decided EWR-EZE needs to be cheap and it's hovering around $700 good through Dec.

UA has dropped NYC-GIG down to $561 all in also good through 12/11.

Perhaps more southern hemisphere lines are in my future.

Interesting.

Annoying children or heavenly beds. Hmmm....

I honestly don't know how much time we're going to spend at the property. I think we'll explore the island and its various beaches / activities.

Agreed. There is no place on the planet that is exclusively served by the New and Improved NKJM Conglomeration™ that I have any real need to get to. When I visit Jamaica, I do so exclusively by cruise ship. Take me to Dunn's River Falls, take me to somewhere that sells cheap Blue Mountain, and take me back to the big floating thing with the umbrella cocktails.

I'd have to say that Jamaica is my second least-favorite Caribbean destination, second only in  to Dominica. Nassau is a close third.

Ahh, well then it may not be such an issue. But I figured i'd give you a head's up.

Also, the self parking here is

The lot keeps filling up so they have to do free valet. I'm starting to loathe Kaanapali.

I hope to make a quick visit one of these days just to say i've been there.
