Now I'm wondering if I should take this opportunity as a newly minted Marriott plat and get a status match over to SPG. I haven't done a lot of SPG nights in my travels as I tend to stick with Marriott, but as much as you guys love them, it might be worth checking out since I can get plat for free, essentially. I think I'll mosey down to the SPG forum and check out the thread on it

I'm a minority in The Box in that I prefer Hilton. I don't have a reason to avoid SPG or their properties...just happened to have a bunch of good Hampton Inn stays and needed a new credit card, so I went to the HH AmEx. I do have a Discover card that is solely paying off a balance transfer...once that is paid, maybe I'll get myself an SPG too.

Are we having an Embraer conniption fit, John?
