I wanted to pick the field up about 4 miles north east of ABI, it is grass. No better way to make use of the greatness of soviet aircraft. I can even use the Abilene AVISlube, MIDAS, and pep boys for all my needed repair hangar supplies.

You should be able to join from the main page now. I think it just makes you send a request as a courtesy, even on non-passworded worlds.

You can choose decent-sized hubs, if you like. I was just cautioning against the more generic mega-hub variety, like LHR, CDG, JFK, LAX, etc.
