Oh thats a good deal. I am still undecided if we are going to take the flight from the city airport or take the ferry.

AA offered me a buy-up to F, $135 EWR-MIA and $100 MIA-BZE. If I was traveling alone, I might have done it, but for almost $500 for two, I passed on the offer, I will remain in my row with no window. I selected row 13 on the 757 without checking seatguru.

It is $25/taxi (not /person) to the ferry terminal. Or you can fly on Tropic Air right from the int'l terminal at the airport.

And I was wrong about the $5 cab; it is ~$20, but still you save thanks to the lower fare from the domestic terminal (http://www.belizelogue.com/flights-within-belize):

Sample fares:

* International airport to San Pedro/Ambergris Caye - $US54.50 on Maya Air, $US57 on Tropic Air, round trip on either is $US109.
* Municipal Airstrip to San Pedro/Ambergris Caye - $US30.50 on Maya Air, $US31.50 on Tropic Air, with discounts of 25% for children.

So the lesson here is that you can save a lot of money by flying out of the Municipal Airstrip instead of the larger airport.

Getting between the two main airports

If you are in a group of two or more you might consider saving money by flying out of the Municipal Airstrip. Taxis are always waiting outside both, and the fare between the two is about $US20 or even a bit below. You can check the prices for your flights on each of the airline’s sites, and decide whether it’s worth it to you.
A schlep to the other airport, but also a new dot on the map. ;)

Supposed to be in SAN, but am still here in PHL. PHL airport was a mess this evening. Weather related delays. My incoming flight was diverted to Pittsburgh which meant my flight to IAH was delayed by 2.5hrs, which then meant I would have missed by connection to SAN. I called and got myself onto the 5:35am PHL-IAH flight tomorrow morning, quick 2hr turn in SAN and back again on 12:35PM flight out of SAN-IAH then on to PHL on the 6:55PM flight.

This MR takes me to PLAT - yay!

Was ticked off because I had booked the Sheraton Marina hotel via Hotels.com and managed to get a $89 rate - cool! But, it was prepaid, so I thought I was going to have to eat it because the policy was no refunds if cancelled within 24 hrs. Got on the phone to Hotels.com and they agreed to refund me the cost even though the Sheraton wouldn't refund it. Was inmpressed with their customer service.

Now I'm at a stinky Days Inn in Chester, PA and have to get up at 3:30AM. Meh!

Sorry your plans were all  today

new dot= :cool::D

Great thanks!

I think we may just take the taxi and fly from the city airport. It will be half the cost. I printed out the scheds from both airlines and will just buy the tickets when we get to the city airport.

I'll be awaiting your report on the experience as I'm going to be repeating the journey in just a couple weeks. And I have nothing booked except the EWR-BZE air. I should get on the hotel bookings, I think.

Go to sleep; you've gotta be up in 4 hours.

I'm not even tired now. That SAN redeye really screwed me up.

I will take a ton of pictures and get a full report to the Box as soon as I can.

I am thinking of a mixed carrier route btwn the city airport and san pedro for FM.

I'm really hoping this clears up before my SAN run tomorrow...

I checked the stats on my blog. I am Google's number one result for side of beef prices in April 2009. :D

We were going to go Sat; Plus1 is flying to SMF tomorrow for a funeral and will be back Sun morning. We'll have to catch it some time next week. Glad you here you thought it was amazing - it sure looks it and I'm not a Star Trek fan!

I wasn't going to go but all of the reviews I've heard have been very positive.
