Manahawkin. Every DMV does have a cop in it, but after calming myself down I asked the manager if the cops were there "because of people like me who are flipping out over the new rules". She said yes. Apparently enough people were blowing their stacks that the clerks truly felt threatened.

MR Questions

Since temporarily relocating to LAS for the year, I have had a tough time looking for MR deals. I think I may finally have a winner, but want to bounce a few questions off of the Boxers.

LAS-IAH-LGA*EWR-HNL-EWR-LGA-IAH-LAS

This itinerary has me leaving on 1 June, overnighting in NYC, and then doing a same day turn in HNL, before heading back to Vegas.

1. Is 1:40 enough time to do a same day turn in HNL? The inbound and outbound are two different planes.
2. I don't have a TravelBank account, but (if I open one up) would it be worth it to split off the LAS-IAH-LGA flights to maximize credits?

Many thanks in advance,
JB

In what ways? I have not read any comparisons between the two, so I'm curious to hear your thoughts.

  • Sight lines
  • Concessions
  • Prices (both ticket and concessions)
  • Concourses
  • etc.

I still need to write up my thoughts in full, but it is a nicer experience overall inside. I get the impression that the Mets' field was designed for the fans and folks who want to watch the games. Yankee stadium was designed for the merchants and the team.

The 1:40 connection shouldn't be a problem. I'd be more worried about the LGA-EWR connection. How much time do you have for that?

As for splitting the LGA turn off from the other ticket, I'm not sure how well you'll be protected anyways since there is the airport change. I'd be cautious unless there is a long enough connection time that you are truly in good shape on that ticket.

It sounds like I need to check the place out. God knows I hated Shea.

I'm really impressed with Marriott right now. I sent a PM last night to Marriott Concierge reguarding some elite qualification nights and someone from their corporate office in Utah actually called me to explain and resolve the issue. That is really ^ customer service. Reminds me of what I see CO Insider do here.

You know that the Airline Mogul world is too small when you're considering operating FCO-LGA (!!!) because there are none of the real-life caps on airport use or runway length.

Please don't tell me that you are alarmed by this.

It's very . I learned a while ago that a passport and license wasn't enough. When I had to renew my license last month I went online to see what I needed and it's so obtuse that they have a wizard to help you.

But I do not recall seeing cops in the Edison location, nor the South Plainfield one when that was open. Aberdeen was the first DMV that I a cop.

Oh, MVS, excuse me. :rolleyes::rolleyes:

Welcome to my world....that's what I walked in with.

And to your second point: New Jersey is crafting insanely obtuse and unfriendly policies? C'mon, I'm being Punkd, right?

baglady, sbm12, and icurhere2 that I know of. General consensus is that it isn't worth the hassle, but since it effectively has no cost I might consider doing it to boost the MR point balance. My AmEx points go right to CO or HH anyway.

I do indeed - and I spend a good deal of them, including tips in LAS and at the gas station that has a "minimum purchase in order to use credit card" requirement. Many more are exchanged for paper currency. A small number go to the bank.

You don't want to know how many pieces of ID I had to show to the TN Dept of Safety - including two TN Dept of Safety-issued ID cards and a passport - to even submit the paperwork for consideration of my carry permit.

OK, the fire trucks just arrived across the street.

Passports I can understand - but two cards from the same agency?

Axis of Weasels Alliance is  to announce the admission of Aero Pandy. We look forward to denigrating and subjugating the travelers of Aero Pandy, and hope this Alliance allows Aero Pandy to bring more  to all the hapless fliers of Axis of Weasels.
