Ah, lunch at a German restaurant today. ^

I've not paid much attention to the credit card threads, but in an email I got yesterday from CO they were basically selling silver status with the PClub+ World Mastercard. It wasn't that fake elite access stuff, but this included comp. upgrades as a benefit. I remember FT'ers getting the panties in a bunch when were selling it for PTY folks, I can't imagine that this would be appreciated.

How come you don't answer your phone any more? That's very  of you.

Mrs Radonc1 is more explicit. "When I fly, I sit up front" :o. Things can't get any clearer than that!

No, it's not worth it. You could take the Metro to Union Station and then take a train, but that process would take 1.5-2 hours.

IM no CO1E but , it is not bad if there is no traffic.

The only time there is "no traffic" in the DC area is between 9:30 pm and 5:00 am on weekdays, and from 9:00 pm to 9:00 am on weekends. If there is no traffic at all, it takes about an hour to get from downtown DC to downtown Baltimore.

Some of us have meetings and conference calls in which to participate this morning.

Thanks for the info! I just know that the descriptions of BWI are  so wanted to make sure I was choosing wisely (no one wants the golden chalice).

BWI's not bad - the only major downsides are the lack of a lounge in the CO concourse and the abundance of some of the most Kettle-like Kettles in the entire US airport system. This can be somewhat mitigated by the new elite security line at concourse D.

If you are going from BWI-downtown Baltimore, you can take the light rail directly from the airport.

IMO, no.

The drive can take anywhere from an hour to 4. Don't froget DCA is on the VA side of the district.

The biggest advantage of BWI is that you can get refundable fares (with the bonus miles and points) for a fraction of what it costs flying into DCA. I make the CLE-Washington trip at least 6 times/yr, and almost always go into BWI. The flights are always $$ cheaper (even with the refundable fare) and the added 1-2 hours to take Amtrak or its little brother down to DC is worth the cost differential and the additional EQMs/EQPs.

If you buy far enough in advance, you can still get DCA-CLE for about $190 roundtrip (non-refundable, though).

Right now IAH-BWI is ~$50-60 more expensive than IAH-DCA. Since this is a firm date, I was tempted to just get a non-refundable fare straight into D.C. but BWI will be fine.
