Just don't tell her that Silvers rarely get upgraded... ;)

I'm not normally a peak-time flyer. Besides, every guy knows that we're not happy unless she's happy.

Once they become accustomed to F, they're ruined.

Thus is my life. My wife has never been in F but she doesn't like the idea of riding in the back while I'm up front. She states that she simply wants to be with me. May be  but I'll take it. :)

She asked if we were elite and I had to tell her no. :o We probably would be silver if it was a rolling 12 month instead of calender year, but oh well.

I too very much want to go to HKG, and I hadn't thought of doing it for my birthday. I'm also November. But look at it this way: let's say you go for New Year when the fares are dirt cheap. That will make qualifying in that new year very easy, since you'll have 16,124 of 25,000 knocked out early in the year.

It costs twice as many miles just to go anywhere. :D

Or you have to settle for 2 C instead of 1 F

Mine has been up front on 4 of the 16 segments we have flown as a couple. One of these was F on US, if that even counts anymore. The other three were CO. Her primary motivator for F isn't food, seclusion, service, the seat, none of those. She loves F so she can sleep. I have the world's crappiest seatmate for a fiancee. Get upgraded, pass out.

Now that she has enough miles in her OnePass account for a BF ticket to Europe, I'm curious to see how spendthrift she is with her own miles. I suspect she's a hoarder. :D

If we flew someone that had a C cabin, she would go for it. We are both just anti-Y.

And they ..... about you having to get miles as well. But they have no problems burning the miles though.

Mine places a greater emphasis on hotel points. I wouldn't be surprised if her miles end up going toward Series 1 upgrades for us at some point because she takes a value-based approach and would rather pay for air in order to go someplace where the hotel is free, and presumably the hotel is the larger of the two expenses.

I made the mistake of posting my LH & TG F pix on Flickr. Her only Int'l F experience to date had been a  experience on UA. She now knows that there are non- airlines out there offering F. I need to get some NH F in before the hammer drops.
