Weather update...Its coming down pretty hard now and I just came back from a Panera's run. The roads are clear but the idiots are out in force. Why do people forget how to drive in the snow????

I got over all the smells when I got my job in Colorectal Surgery. Not really much room there for you if you can't take the heat. The smell of the cauterizing - it really gets to the point where you don't even notice it in the OR. The real fun starts when the surgeon hands you a freshly resected colon. LOL

Ah... those were the days.

Funny you should mention this one. My father is biomechanical engineer and designs those prosthetic joints. I spent entirely too much time with him in his labs playing with some of the tools and whatnot. Best ever was the year he needed research done on bone saw tooth designs and I needed a science fair project. He basically set me up in a lab with a couple cadaver femurs, a bone saw, a stack of blades from different manufacturers and a camera hooked up to a microscope. I got to make a ton of cuts through the bone and then photograph the blade every 5 cuts to measure the wear.

While I was there one Saturday working on it there was another guy testing the bearing patterns between the tibial and femoral components of a knee replacement. The plan was to insert a thin pressure-sensitive film between the two pieces to ensure that they were bearing against each other normally. He was basically performing a total knee replacement next to me in the lab with a cadaver leg mounted on a couple sawhorses. When he started hammering away it started jumping around and I was asked to "hold it still." That was fun. :D ^^

For a while I couldnt see Bryant Park from the 30th floor (above Bryant Park). My 6:45 flight tonight is delayed 1.5 hours as of now.:o Im still leaving work at 3:30 to belly up to the P-Club bar though. :)

The weather here in CLE has improved slightly but is predicted to bottom out by the end of the day.

I'm estimating a 5pm arrival at the airport for you given the weather, and that may be optimistic.
