And the pads of their feet.

Just the other day I saw two crates left under the wings of 737s at IAH. They were dropped off by PetSafe and left there until being loaded into the plane. It was earlier in the morning when they did this so the heat wasn't nearly as bad. Any time after 10am the humidity and the concrete = not good.

The "IAH" in the middle of that itin. is likely the problem. A crate left in the sun could easily get well into the 100's quickly. A lot of TX municipalities are passing laws prohibiting even leaving dogs in cars in parking lots because of this issue. Have to remember: dogs.cannot.sweat. (other than their tongue). :(

There are rules about shipping dogs in high temperatures. I don't remember the magic number but if any of the cities is going to be above that temp, animals are not allowed to be shipped.

And you're how old?

I am 26, but I did not have a lot of choice, I had no ride home otherwise. My car had been in the shop and had to return my rental.

LOL! I do feel sorry for the English goalie. I'm sure he was not a very popular chap back in the locker room!

They have very specific rules about the ambient temperatures at which they will take on animals. I'm guessing there is more to the story but we'll probably never know.

:D, I just plan on being someone's guest. I don't travel enough to get the status.

Yes. At the hubs they have air conditioned vans to transport pets to/from the aircraft, and they load them last, just before pushback.

They also go into a hold that is pressurized and climate controlled, just like the cabin where we travel.

I have a warm spot in my heart for I-Hop since it was where my wife and I ate our first meal by ourselves after getting married.

We were married on Sunday afternoon and after the cocktail reception and minimal food, we were planning on going to a very fancy Italian restaurant but by the time we got out of Westchester and down to JFK, it was late and we were exhausted and just wanted something to eat before getting to the hotel (We had a very early flight on Pan Am the next AM). So, we decided to have pancakes at the IHOP on Rockaway Blvd which BTW is still there 35+ years later.
