People can finally head over there and cash in on their inheritances ;)

Wow. Wasn't expecting that. Must have been some heavily unfiltered juice that you were exposed to.

Shortcut to S. Africa by connecting onwards with SAA, but you would still need a visa for transit (). Also, I doubt J-cabin award availability will be good for IAH-LOS.

I can think of a few judges in the Southern District of Texas that would pour out a Plaintiff in a Civil RICO action on Twombly grounds for not knowing and pleading (in advance, without the benefit of discovery) the minute details of every alleged act of corporate wrongdoing.

Doesn't re Plywood AntiTrust's "material elements" satisfy v. Twombly's "plusibility" if the viable law requires establishment of only two predicates of the defendant stealing dimes from a class' piggy banks?

But we probably digress...

Still having a fight and a half at work to get a soft token to work from home. Apparently in the land-o-major job reductions the final rubber stamp has been RIF'd.

One of the best fake April Fools Day press releases I've seen was from UAX, op'ed by Mesa that said that "in the interest of customer expectations" they were going to be "an industry pioneer and abandon all published time-tables and flight times." Passengers were just expected to show up at the airport within specific time-periods (morning, afternoon, evening) and their flight would leave "whenever we got around to it."

Even worse, the A-4 gate (at which I was stuck) also had the UAX ASA jets

I think the work force may shrink a bit after this

Officially you don't get ORC if you are bumped to a partner that has earning on CO. As for why one would and one wouldn't, any chance that the one which didn't was the flight you were de-booked from at one point?

I'll be at the Mermaid Parade, I'd guess. I am surprised they are doing it this weekend; I'd have thought it would be next since it won't actually be summer yet this weekend. I thought I was going to miss it this year. Also, I hear that watching the races from Battery Park is just as good for views but without the grandstands or the ticket costs.

ssullivan, your partner's breakfast sounds spectacular. Never done shrimp and egg; always been a steak guy. Fiancee not a particular fan of shrimp.

It was quite tasty. I'm not a big egg fan but if I have enough other stuff in there then they're fine.

Not being a fan of seafood would be a deal-breaker for me. I once dated someone who wouldn't touch anything that lived in water when it came to eating. I thought that was fine, but when I ordered fish at dinner one night and he spent half the meal criticizing how disgusting he thought my meal looked, that was it. It just wasn't going to work out and I sent him packing. Inability to eat seafood wasn't his only fault, but it definitely was a contributing factor to the list of reasons the relationship wasn't going to progress any further.

Three cheers to Continental (who will be by then a subsidiary of United Continental Holdings) for challenging the exploitation of Africa by Wing of Satan Delta Air Lines.

I would have to read In re Plywood Antitrust to see how it fits in with Twombly and Rule 8, but would note that the Fifth Circuit today is a very different entity than it was in 1981.
