Question. Without going at all into names or details, have there ever been any hookups amongst members of the Penalty Box?

Yes. And I'm leaving it at that.

Teh s/o: I enjoyed Friday to be honest and Saturday was not all that bad. we should go to the P club (as your people call it) and drink there more often and get free stuff

Me: when we fly?

Teh s/o: no in general

Me: or do you mean just go to the airport for our own little happy hour?

Teh s/o: Yes, like we did Saturday. How can you go wrong with Grey Goose for $3?

ROFLMAO!! Another convert thanks to the BOX!!

More like Air Wisconsin's failing attempt to do it, since they run the gates down there for UA. And yes, it sucks, especially when you're on a Mesa-operated CR7 that's delayed for no reason other than the fact that it's Mesa, who is totally incapable of getting their operation to ever run smoothly.

Looks like I avoided the devil last FRI although today I am scheduled to go to DCA and connnect to US Air!! :)

One of the best fake April Fools Day press releases I've seen was from UAX, op'ed by Mesa that said that "in the interest of customer expectations" they were going to be "an industry pioneer and abandon all published time-tables and flight times." Passengers were just expected to show up at the airport within specific time-periods (morning, afternoon, evening) and their flight would leave "whenever we got around to it."

Classic.

Thou shalt not fly with Delta as with Continental: it is an abomination. That is all.

I completely support this statement.

THANK YOU to Olton Hall for an amazing Saturday! The photo shoot was awesome, and a good time was had by all at the paty. Kudos also to the people at Continental who graciously allowed us access to a 777 (with Flat Beds!) and gate areas.

It was great meeting so many Penalty Box and CO forum inhabitants today. It's always a nice thing to put faces, names, and experiences to FT handles.

Good night, Box.

Damn. Sounds like I missed an awesome Saturday.

Not that I had a bad weekend here, or that our budget right now even allows for much personal travel :(, but I still would have loved to have been there, especially now.

Morning Box. Today's work conference call is already done, my partner got up a little early this morning to make some really yummy breakfast tacos with eggs, cheese, grilled onions, and some spicy cilantro lime marinated shrimp we made last night, and I've got a hot cup of 100% Kona coffee we brought home from Hawaii.

Never thought I'd say this, but so far it's a very good Monday morning. And, the fact that I don't have to leave for my flight until 3:15 PM makes the day even better.

That's hilarious.

I remember well how the on-time rating of the 4:30 PM-ish IAD-ATL flight on Friday afternoon rapidly deteriorated when that flight moved from being operated by Shuttle America to Mesa. Not only did we lose the nice E70 on the flight to a crappy CR7 that was beat to Hell (seriously, Mesa's CR7s always look awful, inside and out, compared to the other UAEX CR7s), but the flight went from always departing on time and arriving in ATL 10-15 minutes early to always departing 30-40 minutes late. And, the lateness was always explained as "late crew" or "maintenance." A few months later UA aligned the schedule so that the flight departed later, and had another 15 minutes of padding in the scheduled arrival time at ATL, but that just shortened the published delays. It still was never on time.

And we went from having good crews on Shuttle America to having flight attendants like the Mesa one who was pregnant, missing several front teeth, and wore sandals (clearly an FAA violation) during the service. I had no issue with the pregnant thing, and usually don't care what the FA looks like as long as the appearance is professional, but honestly, the whole package here was pretty unprofessional for most occupations. I remember the guy next to me leaning over and commenting, "I guess the Miss Teenage Pregnancy West Virginia title comes with a free job at Mesa these days."

Seriously, that regional needs to be put down. I don't understand how they remain in business.

Stick around here long enough, go to enough Dos, see enough alcohol being consumed, and you see and hear things. That's all.

Couldn't agree with you more.

In other news, I've got a ssullivan-esque trip coming up in terms of randomness.

They help. But more importantly it's the massive amounts of air conditioning that make living there tolerable, especially in areas along the coast where the humidity monster likes to torture people.
