Hehe. I was surprised they even had a bird out there for us like that. It was very cool.

Yea, the one cool think about the Coke World in LAS was the elevator ride in the bottle but that doesn't happen as I don't believe that you can go through the museum any more.

Brace yourself for sticker shock. Edinburgh also has no shortage of B&Bs, but most of those will be a bit outside of Old Town (still, in nice residential areas).

We would like to stay at one of those but all the rates have always been so high that we have always ended up using points for a chain hotel on or near Princes Street.

This year I was shocked when I was just browsing and saw the Grand at GBP120 for the two weekday nights we will be there this June and grabbed it. It is not the best of the big hotels but is certainly worth that rate. The best of those in that area is the Balmoral where we once stayed on a business weekend about 15 years ago but which is now much too expensive for human consumption.

I just finished scanning the few last pages of the Livery thread, and I'm in awe of you. Shouting 'worst airline next to DL' so repeatedly that even I was beginning to get annoyed, and yet they trudged onward in irrational defense.

And the dispute of Google hit counts for 'suck' was priceless. By the way, "United sucks" hits over 14MM, and then you have the ability to wait for the cry that would include United Van Lines, United States Post Office, and the United Way in the count, so it's meaningless! meaningless!

Anyway, keep up the good fight.

A fan.

Wait til the merger goes thru and the paint jobs are standardized. There will be the UA equivalent to Veggie Burger Steve, who will base their flying schedule solely around the ability to patronize "Old UA" aircraft.

A random no-name Icelandic carrier is offering $400 r/t a/i tix to Europe from EWR this summer. I'm strangely tempted, if for nothing other than the random lines.

Even after they're painted only the 772ERs and 752s would overlap, right? So one could stay on A319/A320/77A/763/744s if you wanted to be guaranteed UA metal. Ditto for 73s, 762, 764 and 753s on CO metal.
