Brace yourself for sticker shock. Edinburgh also has no shortage of B&Bs, but most of those will be a bit outside of Old Town (still, in nice residential areas).
This year I was shocked when I was just browsing and saw the Grand at GBP120 for the two weekday nights we will be there this June and grabbed it. It is not the best of the big hotels but is certainly worth that rate. The best of those in that area is the Balmoral where we once stayed on a business weekend about 15 years ago but which is now much too expensive for human consumption. |
