Good evening/morning, Box. What a  time I have had todayh. Started nicely with my MR from SMF to MEM. Arrived. Met up with a beloved Boxer and had a fun day. Flight back to SMF via IAH was delayed from 3pm to 5.30 pm. Terrificly bad storms in MEM. We finally boarded at 7.30 pm and pushed back about 30 feet before being sent back to the gate and deplaned. Flight was tben cancelled.

Got on the phone with elite desk and got myself on the next flighg. Pandemonium and mayhem at MEM with people trying to get reaccommodations. Second flight loaded after much pain and potential IDB for weight restrictions. Myself and e other passengers were almost not allowed to board. Finally did. Door closed .....5 mins later reopened. Yup. Deplaned again. Bung around for an hour. Reboarded. Finally left at around 11.30pm.

Now I am trying to get my SMF flight segments sorted out as well as protect my iah-phl flight at 7.30am today. Called elite line and agent was totally confused and told e to call back and speak to someone else!!

Iah is an absolute zoo. Hundreds of stranded passengers, lots of tempers flaring.

I am just hanging out near the PC c_south, waiting for it to open so I can take a shower.

Oh, and yeah, my MEM-IAH flight was terrifyingly turbulent flying through the storm. I was s**t. scaredat one point.

Sorry to hear of your rough ride. Glad you made it to IAH! Hope all is better now!!

Again? That sucks. Sounds like a terribly  weekend to be flying; i hope everyone makes it through OK.

Gonna be a weekend full of home improvements here. I'm already a bit sore from the work yesterday. That doesn't bode well for me.

Yes. It hurt, to say the least. Made it to CLT ok but we've been sitting here since then. All on board the plane when the pilot announced that the MX issues were not immediately fixable and that we were going to have an aircraft swap, so everyone had to disembark.

The new plane ALSO turned out to have issues, we waited around for a crew to check it out/fix it, eventually they switched us to a THIRD plane. Since plane #3 was now a CR2 rather than a CR7, it turned into a VDB situation and we weren't seated quite close enough to the gate desk to rush it as soon as the GA made the announcement. The last person they VDBed was the one right in front of us in line.

We MIGHT get out of here in the next half hour? Hopefully...???

What a story. So sorry to hear it - you poor thing - between the IAH craziness, the people on the phone, and the turbulence!! The one thing for which I am very thankful is that I did at least get my 3 hrs of sleep in a nice bed, and got to take a shower, and all that.

My DFW flight has 33 people on the standby list and they won't bump me. At least the flight back to IAH looks full so there is another opportunity :(

She was required to get a job to drive.. and now apparently being a hostess is "hard" and she "hates" her job. I broke it to her that every other job is "worse" but she doesn't care. Oh well.. she wants to drive, she has to work.

A hostess job is probably one of the best she could get right now. My mom was a hostess in high school, and still speaks of it fondly. I've found that even jobs I didn't like or love, I still walked away with experience that would help me out going forward.

Being a step-mom is much harder than being a mom.

I did get an iPad for my birthday from my family ^^
Now all I need is some time to explore and play with it. I am seriously thinking of taking it with me to Washington so I can play with it over the next week.

I did enjoy seeing that Weekend specials from IAH include some fun places. In CLE, we get such fabulous places as ....SYR, ROC and even CMH. I could drive there from my home in less time than it would take to fly it.

Anyway, will be off at noon tomorrow for DCA. I will be in Houston over the Memorial day weekend. Have a good night.

Congrats on the iPad! Smart family you have there :)
