Let me know when you go. Abu Dhabi is only an hour from DXB and I want EK F :D

Qatar has recently become  due to their new visa requirements, but I still agree with your statement. DXB and AUH are like night and day as far as culture, but both are still very welcoming to tourism, especially Dubai.

DXB is more modern and AUH is more of the old world Middle East city?

I would like to do DXB, AUH, and DOH. I missed out on DOH proper while I was there on deployment thanks to a section chief who disliked me and left me off the list of people allowed to go downtown.

Sort of, AUH has become very modern as well, just not as crazy with new buildings everywhere like in DXB. There is a little bit more history in AUH, as well as more palaces and mosques. They have still built crazy things similar to Dubai, like Ferrari World in AUH.

The Emirates of AUH is much more reserved, there are many Women only beaches there, where in DXB there might be one, and I think that it is only on certain days of the week.
