I've seen this type of transition work well. I've been part of one for the past 7 years after a ultra troll destroyed a board.

CO has an exit row open but it wont let me select the seats for my flight on Sunday LHR-EWR. Is this normal? I know they block it until 48 hrs till departure and the seats were grey until today when they went blue but will not let me select them. Sucks b/c Im not going to waste $XXX calling CO just to get ELR seats.

only issue is that SPG seems to have outsourced their card delivery to cuba where they are embargoed from importing to the US so you may never get the card!
