What kind of aerogeek trip would be complete without visiting all the F lounges if one has never been to them? After reflecting on this a bit, I could not in good conscience leave one of the FCLs uninspected.

When you're drenched with rain and dripping while being looked down upon by Claudio's cohorts?

We definitely were the Kettles in that crowd. The Fasano in GRU is a little bit more relaxed (by Fasano standards).

Greetings from MKE, Box. Uneventful first flight and Boingo in the airport here, too. Got a great seat watching planes land while waiting a few hours for my next flight. I should probably set an alarm or something so I don't miss it...

Do the early-arriving LH flights (around 6:00 am) usually go into A non-Schengen, or is there no way to predict?

In any case, I think I'll just hit both B and A before going into the city. I want to inspect them and collect ducks. Ideally, I would arrive into a remote area and get driven over to B, go to the B lounge, then clear into Schengen and check out the A lounge. Will be using the FCT later for my connection, so I don't want to bother going into the regular terminal at all on that portion.

The early US flugs usually go to A Non Schengen, but due to the Big Dig over there, it changes all the time. Orlando usually gets Mickey Moused to C.

Go to the FCL/FCT Maximizer thread on the LH forum and start asking the same questions :D

So, from A non-Schengen, I would have to take the Skytrain and clear security in B if I wanted to go to the B FCL, then go back to A and clear into Schengen and clear security again to hit the A FCL. Good thing I'm getting in so early.

I probably don't need to tell you this, but be sure to build in plenty of time in GIG for your connections to/from REC; JJ is not the most reliable carrier with respect to ontime performance.

Aye. As it looks now, the nonstops (about 3hrs each way) are fairly well timed. Will head straight for REC after arriving in GIG, with a 02:30 connection between CO and JJ. REC-GIG will be a morning flight in the middle of the trip, so even if it's late, there's no risk of missing our flight home.

Gotta love UA.

I got a call from Hal telling me my 6am LGA-ORD got canceled tomorrow. I call the 1k desk and get rebooked on EWR-ORD and my upgrade.

Total time from first call to reticketing? 3 minutes.

Isn't it great when the system actually works for a change?

It's far better than my last IRROP when CO couldn't decide if they were going to fly from EWR or not.

Security and Passport control one is Schengen and one is Non-Schengen
