LED. It's better w/ power, gives a better picture, re: blacks. I would go w/ the 46" LED vs. the 55" LCD. What brand are you looking at?

Gotta get dressed and head to teh zoo. Theater and a ballroom event tonight; should be a calorie-incinerator.

You're buying the wrong plasmas. I've had one for seven years and it's still one of the best pictures I have ever seen.

PHL zoo?

If so, look out for the big Lego display. My friend built it and has been setting it up for the last two weeks.

Not sure if it's open yet, but it may be.

No idea. Want to keep the expense under $1500. Any suggestions?

I have the Samsung UN46B6000 and have been quite pleased with it. The picture quality, blacks and colors are magnificent! My one complaint is that it's lit by LEDs around the edge of the screen so in dark movie scenes, you can sometimes see faint rays of light coming from the edges (I'm probably being picky).

I've also heard very good things about the Vizio LED panels and believe they are lit by LEDs behind the panel.

My best suggestion would be to go look at a few different models in person (preferably at a proper home theater store where they will have proper lighting) and see what looks best to you.

ETA: Just noticed that the Samsung model I have has been replaced by the UN46C6300. If the newer model is lit by LEDs behind the panel, I'd give that model a serious look...

Well, how do you know that she hasn't striven (is that a word?) to lose weight and has not been successful for one reason or another? What if she really does have a medical issue that prevents her from losing weight easily? (I'm not condoning her weight, here, by the way, just trying to look at it from different angles).

Perhaps the "role model" piece could be that despite what you look like, if you have talent, determination, etc. then you can achieve success? In a world where Hollywood is obsessed with weight - ie. the lack of - I find it quite refreshing to see that someone of her size is actually being acknowledged and accepted as a deserving individual because of her talent and not her looks.

There are so many stick thin actresses, that in my mind are equally as "disgusting" to look at because they are sending the wrong message to millions of young girls across the country that to be "valued" or considered "beautiful" you have to be stick thin.

You have a beautiful, beautiful young daughter. Think about the messages you want to send her. Think about the biases that exist in this world. If she grew up to be overweight (either through her own fault or through other reasons) wouldn't you still love and adore her? Wouldn't you still want her to be valued for who she is and not what she looks like? If you subtly (or less subtly) send her the message that "fat" is disgusting, think about the potential ramifications of that.

I'm not disagreeing with you that the actress is certainly very obese, and would probably look a whole lot better if she lost 200lbs, but sometimes it's just not that easy.

It's actually not funny at all, so I'm not sure if it can be classified as a joke.

More like "inside "

I haven't been to either, but I believe the B FCL offers the car transfer service while the A FCL does not.

I think the only F lounge that offers the car service is the FCT. If you are HON or in F on a flight that arrives at a remote stand or in the C concourse, however, LH sometimes sends a car/bus that to pick you up and take you to the B FCL where you can make your way to your connection, but I do not believe that they offer the regular drive-to-the-plane service out of B.

I definitely will be using the FCT on this itin, but want to check out one or both of the FCL's, as well.

I have had a Samsung 52" LCD TV for a few years now, and I have been happy w/ it. I believe Samsung and Sony use the same manufacturer for their screens. It's just the software and firmware behind the scenes that make the difference - along w/ the price. My advice. Go to a home theater store and check out the pictures in a setting that shows the black levels in a proper environment. Plasma has the best black levels, but they are the power hogs of HDTVs. LEDs are the "greenest" of the HD sets. When OLEDs become abundant and in large size, those will be the "greenest" of the sets. Right now OLEDs are expensive and small.

I'd suggest a genuine Magnetbox or Sorny (the Panaphonics is a piece of junk however).
