Looks like Hawaii is the winner of the honeymoon sweepstakes....for today anyway. I'll wait for the wind to shift and see if it changes her mind.

What does everyone think about BA's potential expansion from LCY? I am composing a blog post about it, pretty much thinking that there is great potential to BOS, LGA, and DCA.

Does LGA and DCA even have CBP? LCY has the advantage of not being LHR or LGW. With DLR going there it has the potential being more convenient to people trying to get to the financial part of London as well as being much closer to the Olympic venues in 2012 which are primarily in east London.

I would question your inclusion of LGA and DCA up there. How do they do that? I don't think that 319 can even make it to a refueling stop in Newf.. |
US Women's Curling team allowed 4 points to Canada in the 3rd End.

I believe AC serves both so I would assume that CBP facilities are present.

Remember, the westbound flights from LCY make a quick techstop in SNN that also allows preclearance for US entry. From what I read, PAX have dealt with this with a smile as they know they still are ahead of the "hassle game" in regards to LHR. Its a powerful message that you can get from your seat in the financial district to your seat on the 318 in well less than an hour.

Need to start preparing some brunch - andouille, eggs, and cereal.

Flights over 1500 miles are not allowed from LGA (with the exception of Denver) or on Saturdays. LGA only has customs for general aviation .

Aren't there regulatory barriers to flying from LGA and DCA? I would be shocked if they were removed for BA. I wonder whether there is enough finance traffic at BOS to make this work.

The one thing that always crosses my mind on A318's crossing the ocean is that some freak out over the thought of a 752 crossing the ocean and the 318 is only a wider version of the stubby 735 and not many like that aircraft.
I wouldn't expect too many complaints about the Privatair flights from EWR, ORD, and IAH -- which are aimed at an analogous market. |
