I would like to call and order the prestige pack as I haven't done so in years! I don't need the passes but would like to gift them. Is that possible? Also, do they still say admit one plus guest? Just curious. Thanks

Then show up at the airport early and request a Plat companion upgrade.

About three years ago I tried to upgrade a companion on FLL-IAH-SEA-ANC and back. The agents in several cities gave me a hard time on the companion upgrade. One agent said that in the computer that it looked like a free ticket. The agent in ANC was the worst and would only upgrade for that leg. By the time we arrived in SEA all seats IAH-FLL were then gone, but we got the SEA-IAH upgrade from the SEA agent.

This year, the passes have your name printed on them and note that they're non-transferable. It wouldn't hurt to ask if they can be issued to someone else - let us know what they say!

I asked...they said "no". I was planning on giving them to someone I met in Houston. What a waste.

I got a Prestige Pack last year to top of the mileage for my teenage daughter. Before I bought my WC membership early this year, I used both passes. One in a CO club, and one in a NW club. They had her name on them.

I also used the $100 coupon as well to my trip next week to Lima, Peru.

Does anyone know if the companion travelling on the $99 certificated gets EQMs as well as miles? If they do, is it dependent on what fare class the purchaser is travelling in?

I'm not sure what the official policy is, but my wife received 50% EQM as the companion on a recent trip. I was on an N fare and received 100% EQM. I never called CO to challenge the 50% EQM because my wife won't come close to 25K this year anyway, so it wasn't worth the hassle.

I think if you read some of the earlier posts it was suggested that you start the reservation online then call the online support desk to finalize the reservation with the cert. You can later make the argument that ther reservation was made on CO.com and should be eligible for 100% EQM.

I had a little trouble using my $100 off cert from my Prestige pack so it is more an inconvenience pack but the savings can be decent.

First, all travel need to occur before the coupon expires. I misplaced my pack during the move of apt/hotel room while in NZ last fall and it went even further Missing in action on the move back to Canada. I could not locate it for 2 of my trips in March on CO and finally found it again middle of Apr but it expires May 5th... With a Sat. night stay requirement, I had to rearrange my reserved itinery in order to complete travel by the expiration date.

Second, I reserve on CO.COM but it can only be issued by continental or a TA and the TA I tried to use wanted to charge $60 and did not really want to do it since it was rather complicated so had to bug out of a reunion I was co-hosting to run to the airport for about an hour to get it ticketed. the bonus is that it came out about 14$ cheaper for some reason so at least cover the gas and parking..

I still have the companion pass but don't think I will be able to use it before it expires..

Has anyone tried using the $100 off coupon with a consolidator's fare through a Travel Agent?

I doubt it

I think most consolidator tickets aren't on a high enough fare class. On the back of the coupon there is instructions for the travel agent to use. You might get away with it, but when the coupon is rejected by CO when the travel agent sends the coupon in, the travel agent might stick you with the 100 bucks.

You aren't supposed to use the coupon with the Z fare to Europe right now. (so it seems, but doesn't say so on coupon....it might be ok, but people have different opinions) I was able to use it by continuing to call back to speak to a CO ticket person who looked it up and said I could use it. She put the coupon code in the reservation and I wrote the reservation number on the coupon and sent it in. Two days later it was confirmed.

You can always try, but it's a little risky. Are consolidator tickets even expensive enough to justify using the coupon?

I am talking Consolidator fares to India for flights starting in October. Usually the difference between consolidator fares and published fares is around $400.

I appologize if this has already been address. In regards to the $99 companion ticket it has been suggested that you start the reservation online and then call the support desk. My question is will the res. created online be for just myself or for the both of us? Thanks.
