Prestige Pack

I have a number of orphan miles on CO and am just trying to get that balance to enough for an F domestic award. A Prestige Pack should do it, I did a search, the newest thread that had anything to do with the contents of the Prestige Pack was over a year old. Just wondering if anyone could post a list of recent contents and price.

i think you can just call onepass and ask them about it. then if it sounds good, i do believe you purchase it over the phone.

im looking to buy one also. if i am incorrect, will someone please let me know?

Only one way to find out, no? ;)

When I joined nonepass 6 years ago you had to purchase the prestige pack within one year of signing up. Did they change that?

You can purchase a Prestige Pack every year now.

One prestige pack/year. Instant posting of the miles. It is still around.

If you do need more miles, order a second package with an agent who doesn't know the rules, order the award, and after about 2 weeks the computer will recognize the buy of a double pack; the miles will be deducted and the money refunded. By then, you will have a negative account balance, which will not get you into problems at time of redemption of the award.

IIRC the current price for the Presitge Pack is $119.95 and possibly any taxes. This is the bigger of the two packages CO offers with the 7,500 mile sign up bonus vs. the Executive Pack with a 5,000 mile bonus. I can't recall the exact price of the Executive Pack, but believe it is right around $79.95 or $89.95.

My recent experience: The rep reads all the items included in the pack and then asks if you want to buy or think about it.

Slightly off-topic, but...

What exactly makes the "prestige pack" prestigious?

Nothing in my opinion. However, Continental has another opinion. Couple of times, I asked to post the miles, charge my credit card and skip the actual package. The agents reacted like I was somewhat insane not accepting the package with all those goodies...

Note: the package can only be delivered at a US address, so for a limited time, one needs to change the saved address. Changing addresses will limit the amount of targeted offers though!

When I first joined OnePass, the prestige pack came with certificates for space available FC upgrades, which is where I suspect the name came from. Upgrade priority was the lowest -- after all elites -- but back then (1999 or 2000, can't remember exactly), I did manage to score quite a few upgrades, including a lovely transcon SFO-EWR on a 762. I ran out of the certificates just as I qualified for Silver Elite, and, thanks to all that time up front just after joining OP, decided to concentrate all my flying with CO. Pretty good marketing, IMO.

Given the amount of deceptive marketing about "unlimited" upgrades for elites today, I give CO credit for discontinuing the upgrade certs, since I'm fairly certain they'd be useless with the number of elites on CO planes today.

Is it any good? Of course a luggage tag's not going to change my mind on a $120 or so pack, just wondering.

Well, it's certainly better than the paper ones they provide you with at the airport. ;)

cab: what type of leather document holder was it? TUMI (wishful thinking)?
