Can someone explain to me what you would see once the flight is opened up by rev. Leave next Thursday and am not expecting upgrade at T+5 even though I am using an SWU (which I would rather not but trying to get Hubby the UG as well).

R would be more than 0

Thank you, that helps. Now if I could only understand the whole process, and when/if I am wasting a SWU vs hoping to be upgraded based on platinum status (this is on a flight to SJU).

Using an instrument can only help your chances to get the UG. If you really, really want the UG, use it.

Yes, that has been my experience on my last six or seven flights during October. Anywhere from T-22 to 24, and not exactly on the hour. Must be some manual intervention around that time.

Just when we thought we knew what was happening. Today's upgrade happened at T-27 1/2.

I am Platinum and have a flight that is now about T-40 hours. Apparently no upgrades have been run. What gets me is how they push the unlimited upgrades as a sell for the program and the supposed 5 day upgrade window. I have a V fare and it seems that the only time I've been upgraded earlier than 2 days was on an H fare this year.

Platinum with outbound flight leaving at T-50 and return leaving at T-80. On the outbound 13 out of 16 F seats are empty, 15 out of 20 F seats are empty on the return. No upgrade yet, but I can buy an upgrade for $570 for each leg.

I am Gold on a reward ticket paying for taxes w/my pp cc, for tom and was never upgraded. When I checked in 24hr out, my name never appeared on the list. I have been on hold for 50 min. at this point. The elite desk called the web help desk and she said they read the rules together to make sure I was correct and they have no idea how to get me on the list or why I was not on it originally. Elite desk said they called the airport help desk and they were not willing to add my name to upgrade list.

Anyone got any ideas?

This has happened to me twice and the elite desk told me the same thing. what I did was, got to the airport early and went to the gate agent or Pclub agent and gave them these codes GG_one_plus Or GG_pres_plus and they put me on the list. Did this in SAT (gate agent) and PClub E in IAH and they both new about it, and got the upgrade. Maybe you can tell the elite desk about the codes but don't think they can help. GL

Continental is now selling first class el cheapo upgrades at check in BEFORE leading all elites. As a platinum I got screwed today because of that. I have been number on on the list since yesterday and F keeps filling up. I am still number one and first class went from 6 empty to full. 139.99 was the asking price...they got 6 to upgrade I guess and earned 800.00 while leaving 6 elites back in coach. I believe it is fine if they do ths...they need to make money but frankly it pusses me off that they would leave 6 plats and golds in back for low revenue upgrades.

Please let us know the route and what fare code you were booked in - need to continue to collect data to see if it was 1) a legit buy-up to M, or 2) shady TODs. Thanks.

Thanks. I am still on hold and while they knew the rules, nobody could tell me why I am not on the list, and nobody was willing to put my name on the list. Guess that is an airport function. She did come back and say they thought it was due to being an award tkt, maybe it was to be upgraded at the ato. I pointed out the rules which were just past where she was reading and she asked me what I wanted her to do as she cld not put me on the ug list. I said she needed to call back and inform them I should have been looked at three days out. I also said it is some kind of a glitch and they need to fix it. Still waiting.

Follow/up. I am first on the UG list. Elite desk called back electronic support desk and they in turn called airport support and they did indeed put me on the upgrade list. Yeah! Amazing what knowing the rules and being persistant does! Too bad it took 85 min!

I'm told that this is a known system glitch and they have escalated this as their top priority to get it fixed. I am sure some smart programmer will figure this out soon. I hope...

An optimist I see! ;)

This "glitch" has reared it's ugly head off and on over the past year. Smells more like a test to me.
