unless you are flying PS F or have an INTL same day itinerary you cannot access RCC on a domestic business class based on 1K status. On CO an INTL address with gold or higher would grant you PC club membership but I don't think UA has the same rule.

and I have certainly been asked many times for my INTERNATIONAL boarding pass or itinerary when entering the RCC on a domestic leg that's part of an international itinerary.

No disrespect here but I do.
Showing my ticket + card and receiving a T-Mobile WIFI card, two drink coupons and access to RCC in return.
It happened quite too often to be a mistake by the front desk.
Dont forget: only if I am flying business (upgraded economy ticket).
So, you are saying that this is an error by UA and I shouldnt get access to the RCC?

Are you also Star Gold on a non-US carrier (e.g., Lufthansa, BMI, etc.)? That would get you in.
I've seen countless examples of people walking into an ORD RCC w/F boarding pass, only to be told unless they're a member, they can't come in.

I was also going to say I've seen countless people turned away at LAX, IAD, and ORD (a lot at ORD). Being fair, it's not "countless" but I'd say I've seen this a good 50 times while entering the lounge. And I credit my domestic flights (almost all upgraded) to UA while showing my LH *G card for RCC access. The agents clearly will not take my boarding pass alone for entry and the new entry RCC system has made it very cumbersome for them to admit me on the LH *G card while the flight is credited to UA, although they always do. It has taken a few agents 5 full minutes to figure out how to get the system to let me in and sometimes I'm even asked to leave my card and boarding pass and sit down so they can figure it out when it's slower. The problem seems to be that even entering the LH number into the RCC entry system, the system pulls my UA 1K number to overwrite it and rejects entry with 1K and domestic F. They always let me in on the LH *G card, though.

The only open question for me is whether or not a UA 1K flying PS can use their BP to get into a PC irrespective of their right to enter the RCC.

I'm almost certain that the answer is no. Much like CO offers slightly different service for BF customers at PClubs UA offers slightly different service for p.s. at RCCs.

- in CO's pocket
- a CO employee
- an FTer planted by CO
- or that he redefines fanboy in his fervor for CO.
None of the above are true. He just takes the time to read the rules.

The first three are objective statements, the fourth is subjective.

It's also a widely believed rumour that the moon landing was faked on a soundstage, but I think in both cases, it says more about the promoter of the rumour than anything else.

Are there BF benefits above and beyond normal PClub benefits?

If 9 out of 10 of your flights are BF (or the UA equivalent), I could understand it, but you don't indicate what % of your flights are domestic.
