Isn't it always snarky? I never thought it was a compliment. It's so absolute, it's ridiculous. I couldn't imagine saying such a thing to my team. They're certainly good, they work hard, and they're told such, but such a remark about "most professional" in the industry sounds ridiculous. No professional manager would use language like that.

You have no clue how often I fly either, so spare me the obnoxious defense mechanisms kicking in. You posted what amounts to nonsense about hoping UA doesn't infect CO with inferior "spirit and quality". You dropped United because you had a bad experience years ago - that's your decision to make and you can do whatever you wish, but I am sick and tired of reading impartial nonsense that isn't substantiated. I've been lurking around these forums for half a decade and know exactly the type of fanboy rhetoric that gets tossed around nearly daily.
To be pointed: I posted specifically about my personal experiences in the past. If yours are different, so be it. I posted nothing about what the combined entity would do.
Take your personal insults and go somewhere else.

Made my last call today, to what I guess can be considered a stand alone CO.
All went well, as it usually did\does with CO.
Never had any real issues(not real thrilled with mostly Barbie's Dream Jet service from RDU, but....)
Looking forward to the good things that each has to offer.
First flight on UniCon is Tuesday, still no EAU-so everything is still the same
Thanks CO

Well, it's been quite a run. I remember back when I got my Infinite "lifetime" elite status in the early 90's that I was pretty certain the lifetime would be the airline's and not my own.
That did prove true, but not in the way I might have guessed almost 20 years ago. Of course, for the last several years, the eventual outcome did seem the most probable.
After all these years, it will obviously be hard to get used to saying "United" instead of "Continental," but the globe on the tail will always let me know that I am flying with an old friend.
