However, that's the benefit of being a Plat who can plan travel 7+ days in advance....avoiding undesirable seats.
Although I seem to have decent luck snagging a desirable seat, the force is not always with me. *in no way am I inferring or implying that I'm more important than you. I'm not. I'm the biggest schmuck there is. For all I know/care your spend on CO could be significantly higher than mine. All I'm pointing out is that those of us that book close-in usually get screwed on price and seat selection. In the world of "no whammy no whammy no whammy" we always get the whammy. |

anything less then what UA has makes it E- and a :td: to boot
Having the seat next to you empty doesnt give you much in the way of extra leg room if the person in front of you reclines Since CO wouldnt be selling this outright as Premium Economy I dont see any seats being left empty, just as UA doesnt sell it as a separate cabin like BA does . But BA has a completely different cabin with better seating and bigger & wider. UA simply gives the exact same seat and service only more leg room Even in instance #2 - non-elite passengers are not given a seat assignment until a few minutes before boarding, in case any E- seats open up as well as allowing elites to secure the exact seats they want first. Because of this, if there are any empty seats, they usually are in the E+ area. |

That is a lot of replies to what is mostly a bad rumor....
Put me in the minority of those frequent CO travelers happy in steerage even TATL ..... but then again, I am short and slim. Having travelled E+ on UA recently I found the leg room to be too much. |

Which is case in point why CO needs to restrict exit rows to CO-only and keep middles blocked as well.
Exit rows are just peachy -- for the exact same reasons E+ would be. E+ would just make that pool of tolerable seats a little deeper. |

Mods -- Would it be possible to change the thread title to something which indicates that this is a rumor? My heart skipped a beat when I saw the title, but I immediately knew it was a rumor when I saw that the CO Insider was not the OP. ;) |

Bottom line, regardless if this thread was started as a “hear-say rumor”, I’m sure there are several of us not asking “if” this is true, but rather asking “when” will they get on to it. If (or rather when) the merger begins, E+ will be duplicated (JMHO). |

The thing you're missing here is UA does not allow non-elite passengers to sit in these rows unless they 1) pay extra to move up or 2) all E- seats are completely filled.
