Thumbs up [rumor] E+ Coming To Continental!

You heard it here first boys & girls!!! Sat beside a certain "someone" on my p.s. transcon flight this evening (& yes, I was in row 9, there's just something about 100" of legroom that I really like)...

He said CO would begin reconfiguring aircraft later this year to allow for E+ seating. This should make all my CO buddies REALLY happy. When that damn upgrade doesn't clear, it's awfully nice to know that were case scenario, you have a GREAT seat in economy (-;

Hmmm, not sure if I should also post this on the UA Forum???

Given that no one has responded, maybe it is not a hot topic. But me being naive, that is E+?

Looks like UA wears the pants in this relationship First SWU's for CO and then E+. What's next? CR1's?

You mean "not responded in a few minutes to a post after 1 am EST?"

Hooray for rumors. Can you at least mention the capacity of the person you sat next to? If it's anyone besides a CO or UA exec, I don't buy it.

What's so great about Economy Plus? On the seat guru page I'm looking at (for a UA 747) it looks like it's 3 inches increased pitch... Details?

My best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who's going with the girl who heard someone talking about it at 31 Flavors last night...I guess it's pretty serious.

That would be good news, though.

If you're 6'1"+ tall, those extra inches mean ALOT.

Even 3" still make big difference when you travel more than 4 hours.

its only 34 on the 747, but its up to 36 on others (domestic 757). It means that there are a ton of "good" seats on on every flight, because on flights like SFO-BOS and SFO-IAD there are easily enough elites to go around to fill F AND the bulkhead AND the exit rows. Not to mention its almost always less full, and means you get off the plane faster, etc...

+1.

At 6'1'', E+ more than doubles the distance between your knees and the seat in front of you.

I was curious about the details because I just purchased an overseas flight and the upgrade was offered. I don't want to stray off topic too much... I am only 5'4" but my traveling companion is about 5'11". Trying to decide if the amenities that come with the E+ would be worth it.

The only amenities are the couple extra inches of legroom. Well, I guess you are at the front of the plane so quicker to get off the plane as well. I was asked if I want E+ checking in for HKG-SFO, but decided not when they told me "no, sorry sir, no caviar in E+"
