JenGal, to clarify -
as219 suggested a pre-flight lounge meet on 4/27 for those departing.
There are others not departing that day, that are interested in the ex-KGB tour on the 27th.
The ex-KGB visit on 4/24 is still listed per a PM I received, but will possibly be removed if they decide to go with the other group on the 27th.
Clear...as mud?

Anyway, so only the 24th remains as an ex-KGB tour opportunity for those of us arriving on the 24th ... and the time appears to be too limited probably after arrival. So, we are outa luck on that ?

4/23 - For those attending the opera, the meet time has been set for 6:30pm in front of the theatre.
4/25 dinner at Glavpivtorg...How about 7 or 7:30pm? Since live music starts at 8, this would give us a chance to talk first, then enjoy music later.
chanp or anyone else who has been there before, thoughts?

Glavpivtorg
Reflecting the theme of that place, the name Glavpivtorg is typical of the soviet bureaucracy abbreviations:
Glav- meaning central
-piv- meaning beer
-torg meaning trade, retail

The www.inyourpocket.com guides have good info for St. Petersburg/Moscow., you can download the free PDF guides.
I will be arriving St. Petersburg late on May 1 then departing May 3, if anyone else is going to be there.

I will be in Moscow 25-27Apr and staying at the HI Lesnaya. Would be interested in meeting up with the group for some of the activities. Most likely I can meet for dinner at Glavpivtorg and city tour on the 26th.
Will check post #139 for more details.
Looking fwd to meeting everyone !

Let's talk tours. I see lots of interest for tours of Moscow, Kremlin, Red Square, etc. during the 24-27 of April. Here're a couple of links:

Once tours are chosen, I'll add a "who's doing what when" list to post #139 this weekend.
Oh, and welcome to our group lesenok.
