Just wanted my SSs to know that if I gave a Bethesda address
for mailing, I won't be there for another two weeks, which is
why I haven't acknowledged anything.

Dear Santa #1, thank you very much for the Dallas Cowboys cooler and video. It will make the playoffs and the Super Bowl that much more enjoyable.

Dear Santa #2, I'm out of town but will acknowledge my gift when I get back in January. Thank you in advance.

Don't look under the tree for any liquids that are more than 3 ounces! (But they come in their own bag!)

I have to say that there are a number of people posting that deserve some coal in their stockings for their impatience and attitude at not getting a gift just yet (and this happens every year in similar fashion ) ... give it a few days AFTER the holiday and then bah-humbug all you want. If I was one of the givers, gotta tell you I wouldn't be particularly sorry that the gift didn't make it there on time as the attitude displayed here just doesn't seem to deserve the effort or cost involved. And if the gift is delivered ON the day, then I sincerely hope those recipients will eat a bit of crow on the thread and thank their SS that little extra for their efforts. Note folks, your gifts aren't even LATE yet!!

I almost didn't participate this year because some "life" events came up and derailed my plans for the fall/early winter. Due to a glitch in the SS machinery, I received participants (thanks Santa) and made it work in a window of time I didn't expect to have available. I didn't put in as much time or effort this year as I have in the past, I just didn't have the bandwidth. IWhile I do hope my SSs enjoyed their gifts, had those events in my life not allowed that window, they could very well be waiting for their gifts. Real Life vs Secret Santa ... gotta say that real life will get my time and attention every time.

Folks, calm down, deep breath and give the mail services and your fellow FT'ers on the other side of your SS transactions a chance.

Then, there are those of us who are hoping our gifts made it to the recipients, but haven't seen anything posted yet, and are impatient.

To my SS in Australia, thanks for the Travel Books, the Blue List in particular. It'll help with some of the travel planning next year.

Aidan

PS I hope that my other SS gift arrived. I know one has

The label on the FedEx box received at Casa michellemck99 on Christmas Eve, circa 3:30 pm:

Name: Santa
Company: Flyertalk
City: N. Pole

^^

Thanks to my Secret Santa for the fun gifts -- a variety of Christmas music and stories (4 discs full!) to enjoy today. I have family here at the house today, ranging in age from 2 months to 89 years, so there will be something good for everyone. Plus, a 2 CD set to listen to on management excellence. Both will be thoroughly enjoyed, nice work thinking about what I would like, Santa!

Merry Christmas to my Secret Santa, to William for organizing this event, and to the FT elves everywhere!

Thank you so much, Wharvey, for organizing this event! It's been fun to see all the posts about gifts, waiting for gifts, waiting for recipients to post about gifts and all!

Mele Kalikimaka, y'all!
