Having phone problems,
Will likely skip dinner tonight. Maybe catch you all later at the Safari... |
Bye all!
Bye all...headed back to FL via ICN and ATL tonight.....
Thankyou organizers for putting together this DO.....actually enjoyed NSB last night and did bring my own white wine for which they kindly gave me a brandy snifter (hey, looked better than a beer glass!) and kept the bottle chilled along with all your Tiger beer bottles... Til we all meet again....it was lots of fun!!! dede |
I'm currently sitting in the TG lounge at Changi waiting for my flight to BKK. I had a great time this weekend, and it was great to see my old stomping grounds again (not to mention getting in a bit of sun in the middle of winter).
Many thanks to the organisers for setting us up with the restaurants and getting all of us out of the woodwork. I am all but certain that I won't be able to attend next year, but if (when? ;)) there is a SIN Run 2010, I'll do my very best to attend once again. Safe travels to you all. |
I am just arrived at the hotel at Kuala Lumpur. It was a nice and fantastic weekend. Give me a little bid more time, then I will upload the photos !! :D
At SIN airport I met one of our drinking buddy from the minibar session and we went to the new First Class lounge at T3 for drinks. :) Hopefully I will meet some of you next time. |

szg, Thanks again for getting me into the first class lounge as well as the mini bar sessions on Friday and Saturday nights. Singapore Airlines will have to adopt a drink chit program after our visit. |
I wanted to say thanks to everyone who made the SIN an extremely good time for myself. The company was fantastic and the food excellent. Made some great new friends and had a blast.
Thanks to Opus for the Indonesian day trip that he guided for rtarbuck and I. Many thanks to szg and alex0683de for the infamous mini-bar party's. Excellent conversions that lasted to the early morning. My apologies to infoworks for all the 4:00am calls for the restocking runs.:D Had a great time and looking forward to next year. Blank Sheet |

There was only one run at 4:00 am, on the second day it was earlier !!;) |
Sitting in the new SKL at T3, I find myself already looking forward to my next trip to Singapore and my next chance to see you all again. It was nice to renew old acquaintances and make several new ones. I hope everyone else had as good a time as I did and safe travels home.

winding down ...
Looks like there are only a few of us left in town - I leave in 3 hours -
hope Lori_Q and headinclouds have good last day outings and safe travels; thanks to infoworks for the hospitality and the listening skills. And thanks to all for making it a great time! I note that we were mostly repeat customers, which bodes well for the future of the event. Best to mjm (the originator of the custom, wherever he may be) and to gfowler for carrying the ball as long as he could. Until next year if not before - Cheers violist |
Expect obstacles, but you will overcome
I was unceremoniously turned away from the SKL and sent down the hall to
the tiny crowded somewhat unpleasant KrisFlyer Gold lounge, which is at this time the designated *G lounge apparently. The concierge tried to turn me away, but after some persistence agreed to call a supervisor, who cleared me in immediately. The concierge was appropriately apologetic, but I have this feeling the next time a scruffy *G with a United boarding pass comes up she'll take the same tack. The mee sua and duck congee were excellent, as was the pour-it-yourself Tiger draft. The Cognac was Otard XO, not bad, but there wasn't much left in the bottle, and they didn't replace it. All in all, very like a SATS lounge with slightly higher quality catering. |
I had the BEST BEST time!
Thanks so much to the organizers and all of my new friends! Although I had been to Sin several times before, it was so terrific to get insights into new places to go. Everyone was so kind and engaging, I felt welcome immediately!
Can't wait to book for next year. My goal~not to be in the back of the plane! |
thanks again to seanthepilot and bseller for organizing and making a terrific 'do'! thanks to infoworks for what turned out to be my favorite meal in singapore--nothing better than watching the garbage trucks as you dine! it was great meeting everyone and i'm definitely looking forward to next year...plus, of course, it's lovely to look at my eqm's this early in the year and see 20,000+ ^:D
next year i'll know to book a hotel room early and to use spg 50's from the start! ;) very much looking forward to seeing you all again. |
