seanthepilot and bseller,
Thanks for coordinating this event and I am glad to have come to Singapore for this event. It was nnice meeting some great FDTers and having spent the extra night in WSIN. I am currently waiting in the SATS lounge waiting for LX183 to Zurich after trying to access the SQ liunge with the stub from my DPS-SIN flight in SQ business this afternoon. I can full sympathize with violist's feelings of rejection from an SQ lounge. Talk about walking with your tail between your lege, but I will get my revenge on them at LHR. Also, I highly reccomend all FTers visit DPS and I think to encourage that I will arrange the first annual DPS DO this fall. Also, the mini bar raiding run that Infowerks was a victim of was at 4:00 AM and it was probably a good think we missed him that night. However, missing Infowerks on the second run resultet in rtarbuck having to revert to drinking Gin and Coke. We were scared. |

Sean and Dave,
Thanks for making the 2008 SinDo extra special. Sean, your bus idea was a terrific one and Dave is always Dave. Mrs. wwbgd and I had a great time which went a long way towards making up for missing last year. It was good to see everyone again. Looking forward to next year already. wwbgd + Mrs. |

Yes, yes, let's DO DPS this fall. I'd be happy to assist with the planning. |
I guess I will turn out the lights as I seem to be the last one to leave. About to board SQ 38 to LAX and the load looks very, very light. No lounge access, but had some nice nonya dumplings at the food court.

It was a really enjoyable weekend. Great seeing old friends and making some new ones. A great big thank you to Infoworks for Sunday evening. Would never have found the place and never been able to experience Karenkay communicating in Manadarin with a Hokien-speaking wait staff. Please, next time tell them that the beer is not for me.
Blank Sheet and I got NWA at its best when they cancelled the NRT flight at 0500 while we were in the lounge. Despite being lined up for the walk to the transfer desk and being assured by the NW Supervisor that we were rebooked on UA and would make the flight, we finally go out of SIN at about 0900 on a delayed JAL flight. We were looking forward to surprising a couple of UA folks, but almost 2 hours in line to re-book preempted that. Fortunately, my wait-listed Business Class award clear prior to cancellation of the flight and thus was able to compare JAL business with NW. LoriQ--It is always the seat. The best thing about the NW A330 is the business class seat. Its functionality is great. Cannot say the same for the JAL 777-200 in a seemingly intra-asian configeration. The first seat did not work at all, the second only worked with the FA pulling and shoving. Pitch was maybe 40" and the seat in front reclined into my painfully arranged legs. JAL has the American carriers beat in the food category although the side order of sukijaki was way overcooked and tough. But they were gracious enough to provide it in addition to the western meal. Had a great flight in GUM on NW with one of the best crews around (all HNL based). Three hours and five minutes was much to short a time to spend with them. GUM, well, I drove around the island. Did that. It is a Pacific Island with a Home Depot as the highlight. Presently at the Hilton Guam in their executive floor business center. A Compaq machine of old vintage, wireless in a room requiring a master key having a bad water leak in the ceiling and a falling apart fluorescent light by which to see. The room is nice, but if I were a honey-mooning Japanese, I'd be disappointed. The lounge, well, there is one. Great staff, but lacking in organization. The best thing is that they let you take drinks to the room. Again thanks to all for a great weekend. |
MLK weekend 2009 is the 17th to 19th. :D

Next time we'll stack the mini bar in advance!
Still in SIN, seems emptier without all the Fters here! Heading home Fri evening on BA15/QF320 |
infoworks, I would have dropped you a message if I knew you were in town last night.
I just headed out this morning and managed to score a $600 IDB in NRT for a 90 minute delay getting home so half of the next SIN DO is paid for already!!! |
