We leave Bali on Thursday morning. Staying at the RC.

I think I posted our flight details earlier in this thread (could have been in a related thread in the SQ forum) but I didn't see them listed in post #4. StarG, if I need to re-send, let me know by PM. Thanks everyone.
Agree with oontiveros that y'all should try to meet up with us on Saturday evening -- we'll still be going strong even if you cehck in first RE Sunday, there are (at least) 5 of us flying out at 2005 back go SIN, and I think a few others may be there longer than that (check post 4 to be certain), but I don't think we have anything set yet for Sunday. Whatever gets planned, please do join us!

Yes for the suggestion just go straight from arrival to the dinner. Not that far from the airport. Actually, after my driver drops me off at the restaurant, I can ask him to pick MegaTopLover and Mr.; take both of you to the restaurant. The option with your luggage, if you are comfortable, leave it in my car, or we can ask my driver to deliver it to Ritz Carlton while we have dinner. I don't think it's that far between Bumbu Bali and Ritz Carlton.

Woof!

That's 3 votes and an offer of a pickup of yourselves and safekeeping/dropoff of your luggage. What more could you ask for?

Your offer is MOST generous, very much in the spirit of one of the most friendly FT forums (some of the hacks in my home airline's forum--no names, please-- can be a little, shall we say, brusque at times: "Asked and answered. Use the search tool! Next?").

Following my usual practice when visiting a totally new place, we've arranged for an airport transfer through the RC. I have no idea how we'll feel when we get in or how long it will take to clear border formalities and check-in, but we very well may be able to meet up with everyone for dessert/drinks/coffee on the tail end of your dinner, especially since you're going to be in Nusa Dua, as the RC is also down on the Bukit peninsula. Do such events usually run long? If we could get to the restaurant around ten-ish, would we have any chance of meeting you? I'll run the idea of going straight to the restaurant after check-in by Mr. Megatop, which could put us there before 9:00, but I don't want to write any cheques he's not gonna cash, know what I mean?

Did someone mention getting together poolside on Sunday morning, before most of the group head back to SIN? Seems like a bunch of us are staying at the Westin and don't depart until SQ147 at 20:05 on Sunday night, so getting together Sunday, perhaps at the Westin, sounds promising. Also, since MANFlyer +1 will also be at the RC with us (not sure when he's leaving), so RC could be another option for Sunday.

We'd very likely be up for that. Even if we want to chill out upon arriving in Bali, we'd almost certainly be able to catch up with you at the tail of the festivities at the restaurant, then head out from there on a bar crawl. In fact, that would be a terrific introduction to Bali for us.

I'm sure we'll be doing something after dinner. Bar crawl, drinks at the pool with leftover birthday cakes, etc... After SIN Do Lite with most of this group, I have problems picturing us calling it a night after dinner MegatopLover - I'm sure you & the Mr will fit right in! We'll make sure to get you some cell #s before you leave the US so you can find us easily

It's all mileage. Didn't have any problems getting award tix on SQ, I could pretty much choose any flight I wanted so no problems there. The SK EB Gold Award reservations ladies are always very nice and I've never had a problem getting a reservation.

Countdown well underway

For most of us, the countdown's now under two weeks to Bali. YEAH!

Judging by StarG's list, it looks like there will be a heck of a flyertalk party on a single departing flight, with six of us on 29MAY2005-SQ147-20:05. Whoa.

You're on that flight as well! Awesome!
I bit the bullet and got C award, so I'll be in row 14 i think. ^

Weather in Seattle today is wet, wet and wet.... I think I flew in on the wrong week. I'm getting depressed just by the weather.

Can't wait!
And yes, that departing flight on SQ should be a fun one, before we all get back to the "real" world...
By the way, there still aren't any firm plans for most of Sunday, are there? I'm sure CGK or StarG can suggest some fun activities. Or is everyone planning to sleep until the last minute?

Sorry MovieMan, when it comes to Bali, CGK is the expert. I know far less than many FTers.
I am a foreigner to Bali. That's why an SQ TPP but a GA mere Silver.
